I use soda pop cans. A simple can opener will take the top off and a 2-inch net cup fits like a glove. I know you will not be able to see the water level without taking up the net cup, but this configuration keeps out the light much better than using a plastic water bottle, keeping algae at bay. Easier to construct too. I think it is an indoor solution only as outside use would be subject to the weather. I'd love to hear your comments, Khang, maybe even see an experiment. Have a happy!

I am starting hydroponics for the very first time. I followed your instructions. Does the plant stay in the same bottle for its entire lifetime; does the water and fertilizer have to be changed? does the stalk get bigger and do the clay balls have to be removed once the stalk gets bigger? won't the stalk get chocked? I am very excited to see how this cucumber plant does vs those in the soil. Anxious to hear your answers. Thanks

Outstanding work but what I’ve noticed is the reason they grew better in the Aero garden was because the water is aerated buy a pump inside if you would just add a little hose and a small air pump they would be so much more amazing try it out I’m sure you’ll love it good luck and continue doing your thing

I have a habanero I did this with back at the beginning of this year just straight tap water and it's still alive, I fill it back up with water rarely because it lasts so long.. It's a great way to get seedlings started with good roots but once it gets 6" it doesn't want to grow anymore. It puts out new leaves and drops the old ones but nothing more. Doesn't branch out, just stays as a stem basically. Can't wait to see if it'll produce better this coming year when I plant it vs my seed to ground habanero I did this year.

I have been studying this. I have started some Tiny Tim cherry tomatoes. When they flower, since I am growing them indoors and I do not have bees inside my house I was worried about this. From what I have read, I need to get small artist style paintbrushes and tickle the flowers to get pollination. Tiny Tim cherry tomato plants are small and compact so they are not going to get really big.

Khang, Im shocked you are growing a tomato plant in a tiny water bottle! I tried the Kratky method in a 32 oz mason jar and it just grew to be mostly a huge vine with leaves every 6 in or so up the vine. Never got flowers until I took it outside and had transplanted it to a 5 gal bucket. I kept it under full spectrum lights from seedlings on. Im so perplexed!

Hi Khang! Seriously love your videos and sincere thank you for everything you show/teach us. I have a question I was hoping you could help with? When you list items used in the video, I have noticed that you use grow bag saucers? I was worried that using the saucers with grow bags would keep the bag/dirt too damp on the bottom. Is this not the case? All my plants in grow bags are on my patio. Thank you again!!
@KhangStarr
@KhangStarr 6 жыл бұрын
Saucer is a must for growbags. Last season I didn't use any, and I noticed that all my water runs right off due to soil compaction. With the saucer, water sticks around and get absorbed better. The key is never to overwater.
