Appreciate you sharing this idea! Do you have any concerns about the tree from seed having weak resistance to disease or anything like that? I haven't done any grafting yet but as I add more fruit trees to our property I realize that space is at a premium. So thinking for instance I'd graft another plum onto our existing plum tree, one it can be pollinated by, and avoid planting an entire second tree.

Yes, definitely a factor. From this initial experience, I have selected stronger varieties to use as rootstock. I find that European pear varieties are excellent subjects.

Hi, I love your channel! I wanted to join your FB community, but it seems to have been deleted. Also, do you have any other community I can join? I am learning to about pepper plants.

Love your channel. I have a 20th century, hosui, shinko, and a korean giant. I was curious. How close are your trees? You got me wanting to plant more.

10-15 feet apart. Hosui and Korean Giant grow very large. My Shinko is dwarf, so it needs less.

Where do you get the variety of pears that you grafted? Do you just go to a nursery and ask for a branch?

Do you have rootstock specific varieties?
@KhangStarr12 күн бұрын
I do not, but if you choose to do this, make sure to use a strong variety as rootstock.
