@@roblipop8797That was such a fun day. It’s always a good time riding with these two fellas! I’d love to check out riding areas south of the border someday. Thanks for the comment and sharing with your buddies 👍

I ended up buying both these sleds for my kid and I. The Khaos is mine. Both 155”

Prefer the Khaos?
@Joe-kx7bl Жыл бұрын
I’m just used to the Khaos more. I have the Khaos suspension set quite a bit like the PRO so I get just a little more nose lift compared to the pro.

Have you changed any of your track shocks at all? Spring preload and/or clickers? I ride a 165 Khaos Matryx, super capable sled, pretty fun, hoping some changes I'm making are going to make it more Khaotic this winter, still a bit planted, but still a great sled, I wouldn't want a pro unless it was a 155.

I have ran Raptor shocks on a previous PRO-RMK that came with the standard Walker Evans light shocks and that was a huge upgrade. The shocks on the Khaos are so good that I don’t see the need to upgrade. If I was bombing down whooped out trails I know that a revalve of the track shocks is supposed to help prevent the “kick” you get every third whoop or so. I take it pretty slow through the whoops though as I don’t really want to wear my suspension out quick. For my clicker settings, I’m around 200 lbs and pack a lot of gear so I increase both the high and low speed compression on the ski shocks. I also add several turns of preload to the front track shock to make the sled weight transfer more and take pressure off the skis. This makes the steering effort easier

@@JasonCaville Thanks for the info, I was running a soft front track shock and soft rear on preload on my 165 Khaos with clickers all the way stiff on the front track shock and soft on the rear. I just cranked the FTS preload and tossed a 300LX track on, hoping to get that front end up more for better playing. I was curious if you had messed with that at all to get it to play more.
@JasonCaville Жыл бұрын
Having less preload on the front track spring will help the sled get up on the deep snow better and trench less. More preload and stiffer clickers for more playfulness. On the rear track shockI haven't tried going softer on the clickers to get even more ski lift. I will be with the new 9R though!@@toy4rnr

Hi, please tell why you don't look at Summit 850 expert?
@JasonCaville Жыл бұрын
I prefer the handling and lighter weight of the Polaris. The summits are great too and I may go that route in the future

Good video and I had this decision last year when snow checking. Turcotte did a great video also comparing the two sleds side by side in and on some steep terrain. After seeing that video and his comments I went with the 165 9R. Only 3 rides on it but no regrets. Very snappy and lots of grunt out of the hole and tightening up that front shock a bit like Turcotte explains makes it very playing and climbs so much better nicer than the Khaos in my opinion. I wish I could get out with you for a ride so you could ride mine but the ribs are still healing. My vote would be 9r RMK.

Great feedback, thanks! I watched his video last year too. I liked the performance comparison. For me it’s all about playful handling in the meadows and tree, not so much how high I can make it on the hill. I tightened up my front track shock on the Khaos too. Need to do that on the Pro for sure. Lighter steering and front end lift 👍 Heal up!
