Why did the Khazars convert to Judaism rather than orthodox Christianity? Why did the Byzantines, despite dealings with the Khazars across centuries, fail to win them over to their commonwealth? Get answers as you delve into the important role the Khazars played in Byzantine foreign policy and the controversy created by their conversion.

I think this video is taken from another channel. Here the description doesn't even mention the name of the professor or the institution/university from where this lecture is.

According to the Torah, Ashkenaz (grandson of Japheth) is: • not Semitic (not a descendant of Shem, unlike Arabs) • not Israelite (not a descendant of Jacob) • not Jewish (he belongs to the nations of Gentiles) • polytheist • not from the Holy Lands (resided in the northern countries comprising of Scythians) Yes.. this is from the holiest book in Judaism. And genetic testing is forbidden by law in Israel, unless by court order.

Ashkenaz from the torah is what we jews called indo-europeans to the north west of greece (yavne), as a result, we called that land the land of ashkenaz or in hebrew "eretz ashkenaz" because in the early middle ages, it had not yet developed an identity called france, frankia or germany, rhine river ect....as a result we called it eretz ashkenaz in our books and writings. And the jews exiled there from roman judea after the roman jewish wars, said we are the anshe ashkenaz "men of ashkenaz" ie ashkenazi, meaning of ashkenaz, in contrast the to the jews of spain who we called in hebrew sephardim, and jews of the eastern roman empire and southern itally who we called romaniot. After the crusades and forced conversions devestated the last jews of the eastern roman empire, and sephardic jews were expelled from spain during the inquition, the ashkenazi jews, meaning the jews who lived in ashkenaz, were the largest surviving population because although we were expelled east from frankia into poland, we were able to establish large towns there with the tollerance and protection of the kings, and because our ancestors spoke yiddish, which is a mostly germanic langauge created by combining hebrew with middieval lowerfrankonian german, we still refered to ourselves as ashkenazi because in our minds we were the jews of germanic lands, as opposed to the jews of sephard (spain) who were called the sephardim, and the tiny fragment of jews descended from the eastern roman empire who continued to be called romaniot as I stated prior. Our langauge yiddish does not contain even a single known turkic word, but is about 20% hebrew a semetic langauge and all our forfather prayed in hebrew and wrote in hebrew. Pls try to educate yourself rather than spreading conspiracies on the internet. I have no doubt that some khazars might have later rejoined the jewish people, but clearly they were not many, because if there were their would be turkic words in yiddish.

On 2 January 1492, after ten years of costly warfare, the Alhambra fell as the last Muslim stronghold of 700 years of Moorish rule over Spain. This war had only been sustained and won with the massive financial support of Jewish financiers, in particular the two magnates and advisors to the crown Isaac Abravanel and Abraham Senior. It was at this very Alhambra that the edict named after it was discussed and signed by the "Catholic Monarchs".@@angerycamel2
