Thanks mate! I totally agree and this one is exactly what I was after. Light but hits HARD.

Slices vegetables then switches to a potentially petrified chunk of Australian hardwood, that is good testing!

I’m glad that came across well!!! I was wondering if people would understand how special that is 😊

@@sundogforgebydml1050 I don't own anything in that steel but from the videos I have seen I think I need some in my life once the Nopealope project is done!

@@turtlewolfpack6061 hit up Shany or Don Moore Kramer of Carnivora. They both have 80crv2. I sent it to them 😊

She slices she dices and she chops. Like mentioned already that is some hard Azz wood, you can tell just by the sound of it hitting that wood. Cool and thanks for sharing Daniel. 👍

Dang Daniel I came back to watch this video again and noticed when the blade got stuck. Then you turned the log upside down to get it out hitting it. Did the blade start bending and that's why you started over again splitting the log? How did the edge take it. Still sharp I assume. Man that's some brutal testing on that rock hard wood. I take it you like that steel also. Thanks for the awesome testing. 👍

Hey Douglas. Yeah while I was batonning it wouldn’t go any further and the blade flexed and bound up completely. That’s the sort of thing that can break axes. With such a fine edge I was worried it would take a chunk from the edge. It was brutal testing. But after I got off camera, I also threw it into a few trees lol. It’ll do 😁😁🙂 The edge and spine are all totally fine after everything. It really is amazing Steel when heat treated correctly 😊

Dang. What kind of hardwood is that? Awesome test for a beautiful khukuri.

It’s red gum. A pretty tough eucalyptus down here in Australia. It’s still not the hardest wood around, we also have iron bark and such but red gum is still tough, hard and gnarly twisted grain so is really hard to split sometimes.

@@sundogforgebydml1050 Just out of curiosity but does either of those woods make good knife scales? Seems like they might.

They both do. Especially if stabilised

If you’re looking for something that’s in stock I’d recommend contacting Kailash Blades or KHHI. If Tora Blades or Heritage Knives has any in stock I’d also recommend them
