Kia Picanto 1.0 T-GDI Dyno Run - Do you want to see our Dyno Results and Tuning Box Test?

I am in Australia and have a my19 kia picanto gt. Ordered from bluespark with DHL express on a Thursday and had the box on the following Monday very quick delivery. I must say it makes a big difference in power and torque from stock really pulls hard turned the car into a pocket rocket. Thanks bluespark you guys are no bulls**t about power gains your tuning box is amazing.

Throttle box and 145bhp and the Turbocanto is realy realy fun...not a highway misile, but from light to light it can suprice alot of cars...

These cars are awesome I love mine. What about power gains for the Rio and ceed 1.0? They have 118bhp stock. Would an extra 30bhp be possible for these too?

What model year are the Rio and Ceed? There's a revision to the engines in 2020/2021 that allows higher power gains.

@@Jestersson gains will still be very good. At peak power you won't get as much as a 30hp gain, but its the midrange gains that are actually most impressive anyway. The peak power at 5800RPM whilst impressive, isn't especially representative of regular driving.

95RON is the minimum spec of fuel available in the UK. 99RON is available, and is always reccomended on a tuned turbo car. I wouldn't suggest using 91RON fuel even when the car is stock.

Hi, Our units work within engine tolerances and provide great gains without pushing the boundaries of reliability. This engine was tuned 3 years ago, we have only had good feedback from this customer.

The units can be altered by the user for minor modifications such as an intake or intercooler. Generally speaking, the stock intercooler is fairly well designed, but in hot climates will heat soak easily. If you are in a hot climate, the settings on the unit should already allow you to get best results from even an excellent aftermarket intercooler. As regards intakes, you'll get a good increase in noise, but power wise there will be virtually no increase vs the stock intake.

We were seeing a little bit of timing pull, so the first limitation would be fuel quality. 99 RON fuel is about the easiest modification to a setup that you can make. I'd expect that with 99 RON fuel and pushing it a touch harder we would see a touch more power, particularly at the top end of the rev range. The intercooler is small but seems to hold up OK in testing at least temperature-wise, cat temps were still good. It's a very well-performing engine for its size.

0-100kmh really varies depending upon driver, road surface, temperature, tyres etc. If you can hit the stock time of 9.8 seconds, I'd expect somewhere in the low 8's.

That is not GT-Line it's the GT! the GT-Line just have body kit of GT but with less powerful engine. so this is GT which have 99hp.

It depends where you are in the world as to the branding. In the UK (where we are) "GT-Line" and "GT-Line S" specs come with the 99hp 100PS 1.0 T-GDi. In other places (such as Australia) the "GT" is a seperate model. They are still the same engine, its just the marketing departments differ from country to country.

There are 2 connector pairs, one for the map sensor and one for the boost sensor. its a nice performance upgrade, error free and a significant increase in torque.

@@thomascamp8869 yes i own a Picanto GT line, so far i did not have any issues with this module or negative effects, i think the performance added by the module is within the capable specs of the engine and transmission. just be sure the module is installed correct like stated in the instruction manual.

Ronald thanks for the response- when Bluespark tested it on the dyno, do you know which setting they were testing on? If you’re using the ‘out of the box’ setting (medium), what sort of results in terms of BHP and NM increase are we seeing (unless of course this is what they had tested on the dyno)? Finally, how noticeable of a difference does the tuning box provide and have you tested a 0-60? Stock is around 9.8 seconds

@@thomascamp8869 i'm using the stock settings, i would guess blue spark also tested it in their recommended medium settings but i'm no sure about that. i dont have any numbers, but the kia now is faster in a 0-60 sprint then an opel/vauxhall astra k sports tourer with 150 bhp. So defenitly below 9 seconds

Fortunately this is a tracelessly removable unit, and not a remap. So long as it is removed then there is no trace left on the ECU.

@@xaerothehero try it and you will see that isn't the case. The power output is not logged any higher than stock, you can check over OBD and everything looks factory. It isn't a remap, the ECU is unmodified.
