Top job guys. I’ve not had much experience with GDi faults so this was an interesting one to follow. You must be pretty pleased with the outcome here. Always nice to fix one that the dealer failed on. 😎👍

Check Fuel rail pressure with scan tool - "desired" and "actual" and compare at idle and then when reving. If it's equal then it's not timing issue. Second - block the PCV hose to see if the fuel trim get better. If not then injectors are overfueling. If it gets better when you clamp the pcv hose then change the high pressure pump. Also check low side fuel pressure if it bleeds into the crankcase after you shut off the engine. That's because high pressure pump has one way check valve for the high pressure fuel rail.

Is this map engine or maf ..see if Map,Maf , egr and O2 sensors are correct.. See if VVT O2 plugs not swapped..

Hi mate something else to Consider the ethanol level of the fuel I've come across this a few times now. It can give you all types of weird faults I will be very soon doing a video on testing ethanol levels in vehicles.

Sandy how about borescope down the plug hole and see if there is a small burn flowing in there.

Does it hold fuel pressure with engine off? I think you're looking at a leaking pump

It's possible timing is out on this but chains do tension with oil pressure however chain tensioners can fail which can cause it to jump a tooth but my money is on the FPV

Hi mate, I haven't watched all the video just flicked through it. I will watch It later. But time in chains do that. They can seem very loose when the oil pressure comes on, they tighten up.
