Bout time a car manufacturer started putting in more led interior lighting. It's one of the 1st things I swap out. VW makes it hard to change anything btw so this is great.

It pleases me to the highest degree, seeing the attention to detail in this car. Kia Engineering really worked 2gether & The Germans should take notes. None of that "combination" LED & old fashioned incandescent lighting (BMW), which MOST manufacturers try2 pull off on us. 100% LED here. Take notes: LED trunk & FULL interior lighting, license plate & backup lighting. Front & rear directional lighting that fires in synch WITH the mirror repeaters. Full LED rear panel, including 3rd brake light & side markers. Full LED headlights. Hardly anyone does this & NOBODY offers this degree of technology at this price point!

I'm probably gonna be looking into a 2019 Stinger in the next few months. Just a couple tiny little things I wish they would do. All four door handles should be lit, not just the front two. Just makes it look like they're cheaping out compared to the European competition. Can't possibly cost THAT much for them to add two more LEDs to the exterior of the car. And I wish they would have the touch sensors in the door handles for unlocking instead of those little black buttons. Or at the very least hide it better. Make the buttons touch sensitive and blend them into the handle. My old Mazda3 had those same little black buttons and it was NOT a $50k car... But that's a bit of a Korean auto thing in general. Other than those two things though the car looks solid considering what it costs compared to comparable German vehicles. When/If I get one I just hope it doesn't have the issues that I've been hearing other owners having. Rattling hatch, sunroof, etc.

Thanks for KIA for utilizing leds in the interior and exterior. I dislike it when car manufacturers cheap out on lights. It’s 2021 leds are cheap. I updated all my none led lights to leds. Makes for more of a premium and updated look.

Seems very similar to the Optima SX with Tech Package or Optima SXL lighting wise. You are right, the camera is not doing it justice. The LED Map lights above are like a white with a slight (very slight hint) of blue.

As of now, the ambient lighting is in the front passenger area only. It seems like a feature that is making it's way through the Kia lineup, so they may keep expanding it within the vehicles as well. It's been well received by our customers here.

Hi! First of all, I want to thank you for ALL your Stinger videos. You are a big part of my decision of becoming a Kia Stinger Gt AWD owner since may 1st 2018, and SO HAPPY OF MY ACQUISITION!!!. I’m from Quebec, so that’s why you never heard from me. But there’s a feature on the Stinger that I’d like to learn about... Unfortunately, I was victim of vandalism and got my driver’s side, back door window, shattered by a hand thrown rock...! The alarm system NEVER went on...!? Did I miss a setting? If not , could you explain to me why it didn’t go on...!? A video on that feature, which I’m sure, by the way, has never been done, would REALLY be appreciated!!! I’m probably the first « lucky » one, from whom you’ve heard that this, has happened...! So once again, I’ll be looking forward to YOUR next video on that subject... Thanks in advance! Claude Bégin

After Hyundai's establishment of the "Genesis" brand, which tends to be more luxury focused, I believe the Korean giant will establish a sport oriented brand, and they will name it "Stinger", and this Kia Stinger was debuted as a testing sample to study the market's feedback about such a project from Kia, which is a daughter company of Hyundai. They had used the same strategy with the Genesis brand before via the Hyundai Genesis which is now known as the Genesis G 80.

I just wonder how bright is the high beam indicator on the dash. And is it adjustable with the dash light brightness. Newer vehicles seem to have a irritatingly bright blue indicator.

The high beam indicator in the dash is designed to be seen in daylight. That's why it appears so bright at night. I can't say if the Stinger's light is brighter or dimmer than the same light on other vehicles.

Excellent video showing a great level of detail. Only one thing missing for me was the intelligent headlights when turning a corner and lighting up around the bend. Does it have auto-dip headlights? Any chance of creating a clip and splicing it into this one?

To show the dynamic bending headlights, you need to be driving at speed. I was working alone this night, so I wasn't going to be able to drive and film. I won't be able to splice anything into this video, once it's posted, that's it. But we do plan on making future videos. We'll see what we can do.

Are you able to adjust how high the trunk opens? I know other cars you manually pull the trunk down to the height you want and then you hold the trunk button on the trunk for 3 seconds and then it will beep at you letting you know it remembers your opening height for next time.

Great question. Short answer is no. The speed and fuel mileage in our Canadian cars cannot switch to MPH or MPG, but other settings are available in metric or in imperial. Things like Torque can be shown in Nm or Lb-ft, temperature can be listed in Fahrenheit or Celsius, and tire pressure can be listed in any of 3 settings including PSI.

In Canada, we have different trim levels than you do in the U.S. So I believe that the GT2 has the ambient lighting, but I'm not sure about the other trims.

It is on the doors as well, it was just very difficult to film those with the equipment that we have. The doors light up on the bottom of the armrest, so you don't actually see the light, but you see where the light shines, and you see the colour that the light is producing. It has the same effect as the footwell lighting. In the video you almost can't see any footwell lighting, but in real life you can. The ambient lighting from the doors just didn't show up well on camera.

Farcutiu idk what it is. But seeing as it's a twin turbo v6 I doubt it's super efficient. But fuel economy shouldn't matter to you if you're considering getting this car lol I mean if you want any sporty car efficiency is irrelevant. If you want good mileage get a prius haha

This car does have an ECO drive mode.... let's just say that we have virtually NO test information to share about this drive mode as at the time of filming, everyone who has driven this car has done their best to drive this car in the least efficient way possible. ;)
