KIA Stinger Rear Sway Bar Install... best mod ever!!!

If you get anything from this video... it should be that this is your first mod, period.
If you drive aggressive, or autocross, this the mod you want.
The rear sway bar is the biggest change in vehicle performance I have seen yet.

For anyone doing the rear: Driver side use a 14mm ratchet wrench for the nut, it will take a few minutes but it'll come out. For the bolt and the passenger side nut/bolt, use a 2 foot 3/8 ratchet with a shallow 14mm. Installing the new bar, hand thread both sides as much as it'll go, (if you have a 1/4 battery ratchet, you can seat the passenger side nut/bolt before tightening the rest of the way) then use a small 1/4 ratchet with a swivel head and a deep 14mm to tighten both sides. The rear sway bar took me less than 45 minutes in and out this way.

Taking the bracket off in the wheel well holding the fuel lines helped create a little more space.

1. Waiting for my new AWD stinger to arrive and I'm going to have this done. I was wondering if you ever tried the other setting on the rear sway bar or have you only used it in "drift mode" as you say? I guess I'm wondering if the other hole makes that much difference over the stock sway bar. 2. Did you ever install a front sway bar? notice much difference in handling?

I had this done to my 2021 GT1 AWD and it made a huge difference. One question, I read somewhere that the end links should be tightened down with the suspension under load. Did you tighten them while on the lift? I'm not sure I understand all of that. Thank you!

The end links are pivot end links, so up or down it doesn't matter, the freely spin.

No upgraded end links? Did it bend the OEM ones or no? Usually recommended that you upgrade to beefier end links for thicker bars (just ordered Whiteline bars + end links for my Stinger). Also did you need an alignment afterwards (heard you need one or is that only if you do the front too), or even at all?

Does this fix that "floaty" feeling in the rear (19 g70 RWD) when on and off throttle? Car feels like it kinda sways back and forth on hard accel and on quick decel doesnt feel the greatest.

Bought a Stinger 3.3 GTS a couple of months ago.. Love everything else about the car, but absolutely shocked how bad the handling and floatiness is in comparison to my previous Alfa Giulia.. Yes, the Giulia is blessed with god level handling and balance, but as I say, am shocked at how little confidence the Stinger gives in the turns. Front and rear sway bars and Eibach Pro kit going on shortly, all new Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 5's and full alignment. If I don't see significant improvement in handling afterwards, sad to say I will consider selling.

Will you be adding lowering springs or coilovers or any other suspension mods? Or is that just TBD? I keep watching your videos and I'm falling more and more in love with KDM. As much as I'd love a Stinger, the Forte/Optima are more in my range but even those look fun based on your videos. I hate you...no not really. But my Cruze has been losing my love over the past few years. Especially after having GM void my warranty. Not to mention I can only get 190ish whp on stock turbo. Stupid little GT14. Of course handling is my all-time favorite thing...I've got H&R springs, Bilstein B8 struts/shocks, Ultra Racing front and rear strut and lower 2 point, Whiteline rear sway, TurboTech Racing engine/trans mounts.

The Eibach sway bar bushing strap looks generic and sloppy, the extra space it has to move seems like a weak spot in the design of that bracket. I think adjustable endlinks with improved bushing/joints on the end links to the stock sway bar would be a better way to go for this type of application.

Wrong, Eibach knows what they are doing. so do the vast majority of OEM MFG's who use the same system.

Not sure if you know or not but I figured I’d ask. Is it possible to replace the switches that control the windows for the rear doors with auto up/down switches like we have for the front windows? I had it in in my 16 GTI & I can’t imagine the cost is so much that every car shouldn’t have it, especially at this price point. Thanks.

I think they have a controller on the market that will do that. Its not the switch its the body control module that controls that.

The front is already heavy enough for the springs. You'd need a different, bigger rear bar to match an uprated front bar, and between too much and too little bar overall in a daily, too little is best. Balance is key..

4.5 hours, it sucks to do. Now that I have done about a dozen of them, I have it down to about 2 hours, if the bolt on the drivers side sway bar is not overly tight. If it is, then its another hour to get stuff pulled out of the way so you can get a 3/8's socket onto the sway bar bolt.

Depends if you like the way the handling balance shifts after you add a rear bar. In my experience if you like just the rear bar, and feel the handling balance has shifted the way you want, then you’re better off with the stock front bar. Changing both would tend to return the handling balance to the stock balance, which is not bad, and will keep you flatter, but then if you are me, you end up chasing the feeling you had only upgrading the rear bar, and no amount of corresponding mods really does what just a rear sway bar does to an otherwise pretty neutral handling car with a total stock set up. This is from my experience setting up numerous other cars and owning my GT2 AWD for two weeks ; ) it’s stock, and amazing, but I’m going to put a rear bar in and also get the rear diff brace to sort out the occasional wheel hop.
