Is the Kia Telluride a reliable car? In this video, I'll give you an owner's review of a 2022 Kia Telluride. In its short 2 year life, it's the following recall / service notices and issues:
1. Forward Collision Avoidance System Calibration issue
2. Tow Hitch (which can lead to vehicle fire)
3. Drive Belt Replacement
4. Wheel Speed Sensor Malfunction
5. Driveshaft Recall (which could cause vehicle to roll away in Park)
6. Engine oil consumption
7. Engine overheating
8. Faded window trim (for Nightfall Package)

Reliability and Kia are like oil and water. My wife bought a 2017 Optima in 2018 with 25k kms. It went in for knock sensor issues more than 4 times and Kia were awful to deal with. Would never buy another Kia. I think overall Kia are hit and miss as our next-door neighbour had the same car and had no issues.

I have Kia telluride and have same issues over heating the service at 24mile they change the thermostat and flush the coolant but issue still isn’t gone. Went at 54 miles same issue they said change the radiator and issue still isn’t gone . Reliability sucks it’s true .

Interesting… it looks really good though. Safe to say grey/silver is your favorite color? You move back to Texas?

I have a 2023 kia telluride. I got it brand new!!! 29miles. I've been having issues the first 2 days of purchasing it. 1st. It was a recall for the passenger airbag & dashboard speaker. So, I was back at the dealership 2 days after purchasing my vehicle. 2nd, my fuel sensor kept saying low fuel even when it was full!! It would ask if I wanted to search for a gas station. The more I would drive, the bars would go back up to full. I made an appointment, but by the time I went in, nothing was happening, so they couldn't find any issues. Next, my foward collision sensor would come on saying that they were not working, so it would not prevent me from having any accidents. The service department is trach!!!! I filed a claim, but it was denied due to them never trying to fix the issues. Lastly, the drive shaft recall was fixed. Honestly, I haven't had any issues since. They also did an update on the electrical system

I thought about getting a Kia telluride but after watching this. I'm sticking with my 2010 Lexus rx. Never any issues

Yeaaaah you might have a rare one. Lemon? A lot of my clients can’t stop talking about them. One with over 100k

It’s not a lemon. My friend praises his KIA and when I ask questions I don’t understand why he like his car so much. His Telluride has had the entire exhaust changed and the rolling issue, just 2yrs old. Another person has bad oil consumption, like no oil after a trip. 2 days ago there is a recall for 463k Tellurides for fire hazard again. So no it’s not a lemon, it’s a KIA problem.

powertrain is not reliable. It isn't terrible, but I wouldn't want to keep for a long time. Trade it after 7 or 8 years, unless it blows up on you.

Consuming 1/2 to 1 Qt of motor oil per 1k miles is normal operating condition. That's one way of not standing behind their product. Wonder how many qt of oil it will consume after 5 yrs, assuming it last that long.

The OP also owns a Cayenne Turbo...that things sips oil at a decent rate from usage experience. Wonder why he says 'an engine shouldn't be consuming oils at that rate', especially if it's a decent performing one.

What reliability issues did you have? I'm confused. You haven't stated any issues just software updates relating to recalls. Thermostats go, its a part that wears. Is this the first vehicle you ever owned? Between my wife and I we've owned 6 Kia's and Hyundai's and zero issues, each driven to 100k miles. I just bought a 2024 SXP XLine, 12k miles on it now and the car is a dream. I had 2 recalls and it was taken care of with the oil change. These are not reliability issues.

Reliability is the wrong word...poor choice on my end. The constant recalls combined with relatively poor dealer service has not created a good ownership experience. I will likely not come back to the brand when it's time for a new family hauler.

We have 2 KIA Sorento’s with all sorts of similar issues; burns through oil like crazy, electrical issues, fire 🔥 recalls, the list goes on… we will never buy another KIA or Hyundai for matter, again 👎

How on Earth do you own a Porsche and decide to buy an effing Kia? You picked that over a Honda or Toyota?
@CarFanatic
@CarFanatic 27 күн бұрын
A new Kia Telluride cost more than my Porsche 911, which I purchased used. Also, my 911 has had zero depreciation, so it's actually a cheaper car to own than the Kia believe the or not.

Because not everyone buys a car for the sole purpose of reliability or fuel economy, people buy these vehicles because they like them and don't need people telling them what they should've gotten

Wait until you get the premature shock failure and ac blower fan shaving metal issue not covered under warranty. Best take out a 2nd mortgage. I will not own another KIA.

Kia/Hyundai spend all their time spitting out new cars without fixing the main issue with their vehicles. What it's like 20 different models in N America alone. Now i see them selling EVs yeah Ok.

I work at a honda dealership, and every time someone comes in to trade in their KIA or Hyundai, they are so far underwater its not even funny. These cars don't hold their value very well a lesson I see a lot of people learn coming to trade back in their cars for something else either to lower their payments or such. I'm not saying hondas are the greatest car ever or most reliable ever. They are just machines at the end of the day, and to fanboy over a brand is weird 👀. I've had a Hyundai, which blew 2 motors just after the warranty. My wife had a kia optima that was burning oil at 56k Miles. like having a quart of oil on hand under 100k miles is crazy. Also, 460k recalls twice in 1 year is also crazy.

Look how dirty your Telly engine is? Take better care, I've had for 3 years, No problems? You did Google every problem, that they ever had, not Evan that you personally had, maybe you should go back to a Ford!😂

A lot of the junk from both Kia and Hyundai are from the US. The Korean built ones seem to be way more solid. My mom has a Korean made 2014 Tuscan with like 125K miles and the original engine. It runs like a clock with hardly any issues compared to the American ones that come out of the Alabama plant that blow engines after like 40K miles. I think the Palisade has had less recalls than the Telluride up to this point, and they are almost the same SUV besides the styling of the interior and exterior and the fact that the Telluride is made in West Point, GA and the Palisade is made in Korea. Most Genesis stuff is made in Korea, and you don't really hear stories of them grenading or anything. It's not uncommon to find G80s/K900s and G90s with the 3.8 V6 and 5.0 V8 with over 100K miles still running fine on the road.
