As a Truck Driver of 32 years the most appropriate thing I can say is 'how many FREAKING TIMES did this same thing happen to me' yet I was 'blessed' to have 'never' come in contact with another vehicle throughout my 'accident free' career for which I remain grateful, I also agree with the statement (s) before mine and I'm famous for saying it myself "The only 'stupid' question are the ones not asked,' to me it's only logical and common sense it's how we all learn new things. Pepe, GREAT JOB once again, Be & Stay Well my friend.

@murphsmodels8853Ай бұрын
I've been in that type of collision. I was driving a city bus, and the idiot 4-wheeler actually jumped the curb trying to get by me. His car ended up under the bus though. When he found out I had to call the police, he got back in his car, backed it out from under the bus (leaving part of the fender behind, and a large cloud of tire smoke) and sped off. A witness got a picture of his license plate, and turns out he had a drunk driving felony warrant out. I still got written up "for leaving too much room for somebody to try and get by".

Absolutely stupid to try beating a big rig. I always give trucks plenty of room and slow down to discern what the trucker might do in a parking area. Those trucks need plenty of room maneuvering. On the road if I pass one, I watch the tractor front tires and turn signals for clues the driver intends to move over. Don't ever try speeding up to beat a truck in motion. Sometimes the driver can't see you. It was a little amusing the truck driver telling Alex what would happen if he did such and such. Alex knows every move the truck will make. 😀

I didn’t think you could lift the back end like that. Great solution! Some people just aren’t good at judging how much room a bus or truck needs in a turn. Last night, there was an accident right in front of a bus depot. Traffic was jammed and buses along the side of the street blocked my view until I got to the traffic light. Then I got caught partially in the crosswalk. That’s when I saw a bus coming out of the depot that needed to cross in front of me to make a very tight left turn. He didn’t have enough room so I backed up as much as I could. I got out of the crosswalk and he started his turn but it was still too tight. His margin for error was narrowing to inches. I pulled my front end to the right a bit to try and give him another foot and he barely made it. So it’s not only that we should avoid doing stupid things like cutting off a truck in a turn but also we should be considerate and give them as much room as we can.
