I'd go so far as to say she still looks like she is on the bottom end of an unhealthy part of the BMI scale. @@Ashley-cr4ow the bottom end of underweight makes anyone look like little more than a skeleton with some skin on. Perhaps the specific shots in the little snippets used were adding a bunch of 'camera weight' or something. I don't really follow any celeb myself but i do know that a shot from below the knee centring on the waist of someone sitting isn't the most flattering, hence my use of 'she still looks' perhaps it needed the implied 'to me.' 'Lower than normal' when normal is obese makes for a pretty bad metric, but BMI is a woefully bad metric second only to just going off of weight alone. "Invented" by the insurance industry to categorise patient's risk for the purpose of setting premiums, fuck know how it ever got to be the most used by the laywoman as a marker or indicator of real health metrics.

All I’m saying is she’s doing pretty good, looks good and her weight shouldn’t be cause for concern. I am fat, and I can see inside me exactly why people are upset at Adele. It's because seeing a fat and successful woman is a validation of my problems, and a reassurance that I don't need to change. I've lost 30 lbs over quarantine, and it's not enough (added exercise, but can't stop binging), and seeing her so healthy and (being honest here) *thin* makes me want to cry. It feels like I'm drifting in a deep sea of fat-shame and the buoys I was holding to keep me afloat keep sinking. Adele, Rebel Wilson, even Oprah, all those years ago! I can't help but see their healthy changes as a condemnation of my failures. I, however, have the mental capacity to be happy for them, and see my feelings of shame as products of my injured mind. I can choose to feel differently! So, I chose to be inspired by Adele, Rebel and all the rest because they show me that I can be who I want to be. Being fat is not a character trait, or a flaw- It's a place where I am right now, and I CAN LEAVE!! It's a long journey away from here, from the sad, fat version of my body, but I don't need to hold on to anything in this sea of shame- I can decide to swim for myself.

Instead of supporting the body positive movement, we should be treating them the same way, bully them, shame them, mock them etc, because they are vile scum. At a certain point, there is no value in being 'nice' and 'polite' to people who don't deserve it, and it becomes cowardice on our part. This is literally me this year for self-improvement. I've recently gone back to therapy to get help with a lot of past traumas. I've delved into spirituality too (for over 8 years), and really looked at myself in the mirror and took some personal accountability to what happened in my life. I was recently hired at a really great job that pays me more than my last job because I literally had to switch industries and work management. That job, came with really great insurance that's helping me a lot. My job has a fantastic gym in their warehouse, and I'm been utilizing it for over a month now. I'm doing the work to really help myself, and one thing that I don't like about any of these movements, including the spiritual movement, is that no one wants to do that actual work and take on some accountability and not blame every single person for why they're like this, instead of looking at themselves in the mirror as to why these things are happening. When it comes to Adele, I absolutely adore and admire her, and she has so much strength to her, that she's a powerhouse to me. I respect her a lot, and she is the embodiment of "loving yourself at every size," and I'm learning that myself now. :)

people aren’t concerned that she “lost weight to fit into beauty standards” they’re literally just upset she isn’t fat anymore. that’s what the whole fat acceptance thing is about, to be fat and get upset at anyone who isn’t. they’re all about body positivity, self love, looking good at no matter what size, until a fat girl loses weight WILLINGLY and FOR HERSELF. they’re saying she “gave into diet culture” and that they’re “disappointed” ..... ????weird asf, literally just let ppl live. thin or thick, her music’s beautiful i wish everyone would stop making every damn thing about looks.

One of my biggest life goals is to not care about other peoples opinions like Adele. What a queen 💕
@zalamael3 жыл бұрын
That is a good goal to achieve, but in reality, it isn't as simple as you make it sound. There is nothing wrong with caring about other people's opinions of you, providing those people are people you care about, people that you admire and respect etc. A better life goal, would be stop caring about the opinions of losers. I can count on one hand the number of people I admire and respect, and I do indeed care what they think of me as a result of my respect for them. Everyone else, not so much.

It's so true! When I was 50 lbs overweight I had an unhealthy mind and body. Unhealthy habits, unhealthy thinking and unhealthy outlook on life and myself. I knew I wanted to become more comfortable in my mind and body. I first started to work on my mind and the weight loss followed. Now I'm down to a normal healthy weight, I'm fit and active and at peace most of the time. I feel more like my true, authentic self. It is such a huge difference. I was my most miserable when I was my biggest. We forget that most of weight loss/gain is about control. When I was my biggest I had lost all control of my life, my happiness and self control, I would eat until I felt ill , I was miserable, yet found comfort in that misery. When I started to take an hour a day to work out, watched what I ate, I slowly started to regain that control over my life and stopped feeling powerless and miserable. I stopped finding comfort in being miserable and found true happiness. It helped me in ways I didn’t really realise. Everyone’s journey is unique and it’s not fair to project your ideals onto anyone.
