Too many people in this comment section don't get that she's talking about relative popularity among her peers, not absolute popularity compared to the median ~5 view streamer. Shooting down her concerns by quoting her sub count (which is a poor measure of popularity, btw) or just saying "How does she not realize how popular she is??" isn't the love and support you (hopefully) intend it as. Just because she is overly self-critical at other times doesn't mean she doesn't also have totally legitimate worries as well. IMO she explained herself perfectly well in this clip. Asking more popular members (Subaru pulls in among the highest avg viewers in the company, she is HUGE) to devote time and energy to an idea you came up with certainly isn't a bad thing, if anything I applaud her dedication and ambition. But at the same time, it's totally normal to feel increased pressure to perform when you do that. We also know how stretched thin the production staff at Cover is, so any greenlit project is using limited resources. She knows it's harder for her to draw in viewers than many Hololive members. That's just a factual, self-aware observation on her end. But she didn't over-dramatize her concerns here, nor did she say anything that we should be shouting down or criticizing. So I'd implore everyone to afford her the space to be realistic about her situation without immediately saying "Oh here we go again, it's first year Kiara!" even if you're saying it from a place of compassion, it feeds into the stereotypical clip watcher understanding of Kiara that should have died long ago, and it makes it harder for her to be honest with us and herself.

I was gonna write something like this, but you summarized it pretty well, so I hope you don't mind if I pin your comment so that more people get more context about what Kiara exactly means. I guess I'd only add 2 things: 1.- It's very much appreciated that people are expressing a ton of love and support for Kiara in the comments. Clips like this one usually get a bit more negativity, so I'm glad to see that people at least understand that a bit of it is indeed because of her being self-deprecating and that she's way more amazing than she sometimes thinks of herself. 2.- A misunderstanding I see sometimes, is the reason why Kiara wants more popularity. People seem to think she just wants to be at the top or to just have bigger numbers, but the reality is that she needs to be more popular in order to make more of her projects a reality. She wants to perform live more, she wants to do more music, etc., but for those things to happen more often, she needs to grow and get access to more opportunities. I'm sure that if her only worry was streaming, she wouldn't care much about growing, and would just happily stream every day with her established community, only thinking of projects and goals that have to do with streaming itself. But she wants to do way more, things that she can only do while she's in Hololive, and for that, she needs to be greedy and take all the opportunities and risks she can to grow and achieve her goals, even if that stresses her out.

@CasualOgre All of Promise and Advent out due Kiara in viewership by a lot, and it's not even close. Kiara barely averages 4k a stream, while Bae and the other EN members can average 8k in their sleep. Members like Bae are always going to have more opportunities for big projects and collaborations than Kiara because of timezones. Bae is going to have more global eyes on her, which means more support and more opportunities given to her. Kiara may have more subs, but she's never going to have opportunities as the other EN members as long as she stays in the EU, and that's just the truth.

And even now it's often Kiara who brings the girls together to do collabs/projects. Her importance for the group can not be over-estimated.

man everyone in Hololive is super popular even the talents with the least views! i recently found out on a sight like Twitch that getting 400 viewers is like top 1%, in terms of views most streamers get 10 to 30. i think we all have a skewed viewpoint on what is popular because Hololive itself is so successful, even the talents themselves can’t see just how great they are all doing.

On the purely practical sense, there's also the fact that she's still the only EU member. In one way, you can say she has a monopoly, but on the other it's just an awkward timezone for most of the EN audience. Not saying she should change her schedule, she needs to live a normal life outside Holo after all. But it's a factor that can't be ignored.

It pretty understandable why Kiara feels that way. People's perception of her from 2020 was very rough thankfully that has changed somewhat but I do still see people who just don't really like kiara which is fine, people are allowed to like who they like. I just hope with the success of the holotori song gives her something to proud of.

@@Earliersphereit's notoriously hard to organize stuff with holo EN in general (at least partially due to different timezones) and Kiara is one of the few members who actually try, things are better with Advent but girls still need to ask ID members for help at times but Kiara probably organized the most collabs in the branch, it's between her and Mori with Ame being involved in a lot of stuff up until 2022.

@@koralgol777 I know that I've been watching her since 2021. but she has gotten burned out always having to be the organizer it's part of why she's done less big collabs last year. even when she's been invited to collabs she's wound up becoming the organizer. ID are some of the only one's that invite her and organize them selves. she gets ghosted which doesn't help do to mems being kind of bad at communicating and remembering their schedules. just reality. She needs to start looking out side Holo and find other EU peeps to do stuff with.

The Uno-sea unit that management themselves created was left behind to memories, so, it requires actively pushing forward with more activities for Holo Tori so it's not left to memories, too. total subs are a poor metric to use. most don't watch, she used to get 120k views now it's 70k or 50k. her streams rarely hit over 3k live views, so she is getting less views than most of EN and is always the lowest viewed in collabs. Wish it wasn't like that as she bust her butt for content and doing stuff for EN but gets the least out of those efforts.

For the last six months she's averaged (total hours watched divided by total hours streamed) low to mid 4k. Even her lowest quarter ever still averaged >3.6k. She does often go under 3k during superchat reading when only the most core of core fans are sticking around, but that's offset by higher viewer counts at other times.
