Thanks for introducing me to the Kick Ash Basket, I've had the Big Green Egg for some time and this will make use and cleanup so much easier. You may consider cutting your Picanha steaks in the other direction, so when cutting bite size pieces will be cut against the grain.

In your review you stated to remove the iron grate at the bottom of the Egg when the basket is installed. I have the basket but not the can. I have left the iron grate in the bottom of the Egg because I also have the Egg Genius and am concerned about blow-back frying the Genius when lower part of the Egg is more open. Thoughts?

I haven’t had that iron grate in the bottom of my BGE’s for years and have zero issues. I use Flame Boss and the EGGgenius all the time and have never seen blowback. You are cleared to remove the grate with my blessing 😉

The offset looks perfect for the XL BGE. I have two large BGE's. Do you think the large will have enough grill space to offset?
