Most people miss that Cage is playing his character as Adam West (1960's Batman).

I also always thought (though definitely inspired by Adam West) it was a subtle attempt at trying to disguise his identity by altering his speaking patterns

I almost died laughing at the scene where Mark Strong reads the newspaper and realises he killed a kid's entertainer instead of the real Kick Ass.

Chloe Moretz was 13 when the film was released but 12 during filming. I remember a lot of fuss was made over her dropping a c bomb in the film.

I don't know about now, but back in 2010, there was in fact a jet pack available in real life for $300,000. It was different from this one and other jet packs I had seen before, since it was based on a miniature air-breathing jet engine instead of gas thrusters (usually hydrogen peroxide that is dissociated with a catalyst, as used on Russian spacecraft). This allowed it to have a much longer running time and operational range than any other jet pack. The one in the movie is of the standard type, but I think it was inspired in some ways by the real-life jet pack I just described, as it has very long range and costs $300,000.

The music when Mindy entered the villain's lair is from _For a Few Dollars More_ (1965), which is the second movie in the Man With No Name trilogy of spaghetti westerns starring Clint Eastwood. The first is _A Fistful of Dollars_ (1964) and the third is _The Good, the Bad and the Ugly_ (1966). The music for all of these movies was composed by the legendary Ennio Morricone.

@ 9:44 the actor on the right is Dexter Fletcher, who played John Martin in Band of Brothers. (Weird that I've seen Kick-Ass many times and only just now recognized him)!

Loved this movie. Feel like it had the perfect balance of a good "superhero" movie and a comedy. Always get a couple laughs, but also some good emotional bits watching this. Shame it's sequel wasn't up to par. Perfect example of why you NEVER mess with a Matt Vaughn movie.

Hit-Girl was left with only a few stun grenades, and unfortunately her bag that held a bunch of additional weapons and ammo had to be left in the elevator to maximize her mobility. She was planning to go back and retrieve it, I'm sure, but a couple of goons showed up, so her way back was blocked.

The story required Kick-Ass to be the hero, so Hit-Girl conveniently decided never to touch Frank D'Amico's gun, which she had taken from him and should have used to kill him quickly. Instead, we got a foolish hand-to-hand fight between a little girl and a vastly stronger grown man, which given the fact that he had some fighting skills, as well, meant that Hit-Girl was going to take a brutal beating. This could have been set up more believably. Why wouldn't she have simply shot him with his own gun?

The "Bazooka" (Mk 153 SMAW, actually) that huge goon took was in the secondary safe house. The "Bazooka" that was left over was in the primary safe house.

Kick-Ass was always supposed to have shown up using the jet pack after a certain amount of time had elapsed, and he ended up arriving just in time. Note that unlike that Armenian guy with the history of mental problems at the beginning, Kick-Ass really can fly, which of course is an iconic superhero superpower.

Twizzlers are indeed licorice twists, and they do come in that flavor, although the most popular and easiest to find flavor by far, at least that I've seen in the US, is strawberry.

The costume is supposed to be a wet suit for diving, although in real life, for filming, it was made thinner for practical reasons such as greater flexibility and being less hot to wear out of water.

Yes, Big Daddy's odd speech pattern is an homage to Adam West's campy Batman in the 1960s TV show. West paused a lot for emphasis with a unique cadence, but sounded more natural, while Cage's version is more random and unnatural sounding, probably because that's even funnier, being a kind of exaggeration or parody. It's obviously (for those who are familiar with that TV show) based on West's Batman, though.

Yes, Hit-Girl actually dodged several bullets, literally. Of course, this is totally possible if you start moving when you see or anticipate a shot about to be taken before it is actually taken. While this is not a likely skill to possess, let alone be able to depend on, technically it is physically possible to do this.
