For other Van Damme movies that are similar to Blood Sport and Kickboxer, I would suggest The Quest and Lionheart. They both are centred around arranged fights. The Quest is basically Blood Sport under a different name, while Lionheart is kinda like Kickboxer, but it’s about illegal underground fighting. Aside from that, most Van Damme movies have him playing a cop or a soldier or something like that. Some of the better ones are: Death Warrant; Hard Target; Time Cop; Universal Soldier; and Double Impact.

Great reaction guys!!! Love your videos and as huge Van Damme fan i will give you my top picks. Cyborg is an underrated late 80s gem with another very scary villain for Van Damme to fight. Then from there i would go to Lionheart, Double Impact, Universal Soldier and Hard Target. Time Cop is another one that many seem to love but it has more guns and scifi then Van Dammes fighting in it. Theres more but those would easily be the top ones i think most Van Damme fans would say!!!

Van Damme on the rise after Bloodsport. Released the same year as Cannon films' "Cyborg" (another classic). Muay Thai kicked into the mainstream, literally and figuratively. The dance scene is a fan-favorite and helped his stardom. There are 4 sequels. Part 2 was in theatres. 3-5 went to video and cable. A remake trilogy was set into motion. Part 1-Vengeance (2016) and Part 2- Retaliation (2018). Both were actually good. Van Damme was involved with these too. Part 3 is still in production.

Tong Po was not Tong Po (although the credits say "Tong Po as Himself"). Tong Po was actually Michel Qissi, who is Belgian Moroccan (born in Morocco, moved to Belgium at the age of 2). He was a good friend of Jean-Claude, and when Jean-Claude moved to the United States in hopes of becoming an action star, Michel came with him.

Michel Qissi played Tong Po. He was the same actor that had his leg broken in Bloodsport. He is a childhood friend of Van Damme.

This was Jean-Claude Van Damme putting down the Van Damage. This movie, No Retreat, No Surrender (1985), Bloodsport (1988), Cyborg (1989) and Hard Target (1993) are his absolute best films ever.

React to Van Damme’s movie “The Quest (1996) next. Frank Dux (Frank Ducks) co-wrote the film with Van Damme then Dux sued afterwards saying it was too close to Bloodsport lol. Great channel guys, keep it up!
