As someone who's worked in customer services for a decade, while the original incident is completely unacceptable, the proof of the pudding is how any organisation handles a complaint- especially one where they're at fault. Glad they made it up to you (the LEAST they could do, after manhandling a mother-in-law), and good on Josh in the clip for being cheerful!

I am SO glad I watched til the end. I really don't like negative stories. I watch KZbin for entertainment. I usually move on if something / someone is negative, but I didn't feel like the point of the story was negativity. You were just telling what happened. You had to because you couldn't have the happy payoff without it. I really enjoyed your story. Thank you.

I remember this happening to you guys actually - still shocking to hear now. I hope that it was picked up with the relevant member of staff - I’ve not seen crew react like that on a ship. I appreciate they’re busy, but no excuse for physical handling of the customers…

We understand that staff get stressed they have to put up with a lot but they are representing the cruise line and can affect passenger experience. On the flip side I've seen some passengers treat staff with a lot of disrespect

I was in Helsinki and a friend took me to a swanky restaurant The service was INCREDIBLY SLOW (I think they went out to grow the wheat to make the flour to make the bread type slow) My Finnish is okay but I had not had to deal with this kind of situation so my friend (who is a native Finnish speaker) asked if he could "have words" with the manager. The manager came over and apologised and offered us the food for free though we had to pay the drinks bill. The best thing about it was I don't drink so I had one mineral water and my friend had two soft drinks. (Alcohol taxes were very high in Finland at the time - they are still high but have come down somewhat) so we had a swanky meal at this top-notch restaurant for between 5 and 10 Euro!

What an absolutely shocking experience! The mix up is one thing, but to be treated like that is wholly unacceptable. Glad to hear that your complaint was handled well though 😊 That really makes a difference to how bad experiences leave you feeling. Hopefully the training given to the person involved will stop it happening again.

wow thats shocking of that crew member, especially the grabbing of your poor mother in law. im really glad that MSC took your complaint seriously and went as far as to watch the ctvc cameras. they handled it very well, but its horrible that it happened to begin with. hopefully that crew member has learnt better customer service and never makes that mistake again

Really terrible! One should never embarrass a customer-but NEVER, NEVER should an employee TOUCH a customer! Glad they did something to apologize the next day, but still… And of course, report a situation like that immediately!

So sorry to hear of this very hurtful experience. The way you were treated was completely out of order, when it wasn't your fault in any way. Good to hear they took your complaint seriously. I know you weren't looking for compensation, but given the hurtful and embarrassing nature of this incident personally I thought they could have gone even further in their goodwill gesture. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your kind comments. This can happen on any cruiseline it's more how cruiseline resolves the issue.. we had a really great time in Yacht Club.

Why is it that whenever a staff member, in any establishment, behaves badly, we are told "they'll get extra training"? Are they actually saying that they don't train their staff in the first place? I've never heard anything good about MSC anyway.

We have had some great cruises with MSC with great staff. This was an unfortunate situation that can happen on any cruiseline. We always judge how the cruiseline reacts when a complaint is made

PCL refunded our cruise charges and airfare within about 5 business days; however a preliminary response regarding losses from pre-paid, non-refundable tours booked through 3rd parties was not looking good. I already had a discussion with our travel insurance company and they said Princess was responsible.

Wow, I'd heard MSC had its rough moments, but I'd never have expected the wait staff to physically escalate things after an honest mistake! I'm glad the managers rectified the situation and provided a good remedy though.

Had an experience with bedbugs on rccl. The medical staff refused to see the bites "all bug bites look the same" and customer service told us that if we went to the clinic we would have to pay for the visit. For your information the standard biting displays 3 bites in a staggered row. We did get a 30% credit on our next cruise after talking to the cruise director who was appalled at the way it was handled by customer service.

My experience was awful, they had plumbing issues, changed my dining time as well as a few other groups, and we got food poisoning.

Sounds like a horrible experience. I haven't been on a cruise in 10 years and noticed the industry has gone terribly down hill during that time. Used to be they wanted to make sure guests had an A+ experience. Now they're okay with a few guests having horrible experiences. We were canceled by Princess Cruises the night before our flight to Rome for the Feb 18th Sun Princess sailing. We're still trying to get reimbursed for almost $1,800 worth of non-refundable expenses. All Princess Cruises' fault. If they had canceled the cruise in a more timely fashion, we would have been eligible for full refunds. Extremely disappointed in Princess Cruises.

Sorry to hear that 😔 a lot were effected by the Sun Princess cancellations but most seem to have had refunds and FCC pretty fast so fingers crossed it gets sorted soon for you or at least the insurance can help?

We are sharing our experience with others 😃, the point is if you give the cruise line the opportunity to resolve (which we did) many would have been quiet and not raised it 😊
