So If Im understanding this right, I can just add RCA ends to my rear speaker wire and plug in to my Kicker CX360.4 Amp? I wont need to use an LOC? My after market Pioneer is a cheaper one that only allows for one rear output or Sub (not both) and Front rca. Im going to run the Amp bridged for the sub and the other for the rear speakers. However Im confused on how I should connect the rear speakers or the amp using just one set of rca cables. Was going to run the sub off the one rear output and then use the speaker wires using rca to connect the rear. Thanks for any help for this new-b

Yes. You will need to determine the voltage first to accurately choose high or low impedances, but an LOC should not be necessary. If you have a start/stop vehicle however you may need a load adapter. For details, reach out to our Tech Support team: support@kicker.com

I’m using the kisloc2 and getting a lot of engine noise induced. I’ve checked my amp ground, swapped rca cables etc but cannot get a clean signal out of this device. How important is location of loc? Mine is very close to my factory head unit. Jeep Wrangler if that matters. Also. I bought two kisloc2s and one of them never worked out of the box.

Nice, i just bought two of KISLOC2 :) Throwing out my currently NVX 4 channel high/low converter. Though my sub-amp supports highlevel on the rca input but i have not got the amp to turn on by the DC-offset feature. Trying with the rear channel. Might require to use the front channel for that.. so that isnt an option with this current setup. Got speaker pops sometimes when amps turn off. Really annoying. No pop when turn on. Though when i cycle the key they pop sometimes. subwoofer and door speakers. Since the Kicker KISLOC2 does not have any gain adjustment, how high might the outputs be then? Ill guess the gain adjustment will be on the amplifiers. Mine are quite hard to setup since the stereo display are not in numbers.. there is a bar that will fill up.. and every turn on the volume is a step so you need to count how many steps or how far you are from the displayed text. Not very accurate. My home audio pops the speakers too sometimes when changing settings in windows sound.. like the bit and that stuff. Please tell me more about the Kicker KISLOC2 :) any advices? tips and tricks?

There are a few potential factors. The first is a combination of the tuning, along with how it was wired. Another is the quality of the music itself. The last one (and this is very common) is the frequency response of the speaker lead you tapped in to...if that speaker cant play bass frequencies, then it will never send much bass information to a subwoofer, no matter what equipment you have. When using a high level input, you must first establish that it is capable of delivering the frequencies you need. If you need to verify the signal and don't have a KEYLOC (does it automatically), here's how: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYW0n2usispsr8ksi=TvST6oP060wr56cO

hi folks at Kicker , just 1st wanted to say thanks for all your replies to everyone , its nice to see a company actually communicating and helping the public so good job on that one , 2nd have a question of my own ,im running a cheap loc at the moment (vibe loc) which is being fed its signal from the output to the factory underseat subs (bmw 5 series e60) from the factory amp , so my question is if i wanted to get the keyloc 2 loc am i best to stick with the sub output signal from the factory amp or am i best taking the signal from the full range speaker signal fitted to the rear deck for the keyloc 2 to work properly with all its dsp ? ps im only needing the loc to give me an rca output for a mono amp to feed a sub thats only ever going to be running a aftermarket subwoofer , thanks in advance for your help as i wasent sure if the keyloc 2 required a full range signal or if it was happy enough with a i assume a filtered signal this is going to the factory subs ? thanks
@KICKER-AUDIO2 жыл бұрын
The KEYLOC will work in either case, but a full range signal might do better given it has more info to work with (if in fact it is getting a full range signal). The only real way to know is by using a pink noise track and an RTA. The best answer? Try both! Can't hurt, right?

Great Education, Thanks 1. What is the differences between KEYLOC and LC2i Pro? This is my current hurdle moving forward on my purchase. Help?
@KICKER-AUDIO Жыл бұрын
The LC2I Pro is primarily analog, and built to convert signal to RCA. It is also has a bass restoration section to make the low end louder. The KEYLOC is quite different. It is completely digital, and has a signal processor built it. It corrects the entire acoustic spectrum, and has indicators to tell you what frequencies the factory wires are sending from the radio (not all of them have bass, midrange or treble, especially if those wires are made to go to a dedicated sub, tweeter or midrange). Many analog line out converters degrade the sound as the volume raises, especially bass. Watch this video for details: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKi6mJp_m7Z7p68

@KICKER-AUDIO Which output wires go into the KEYLOC inputs? Considering that we would keep the entire OEM Head Unit and Amplifier in place. Do the Head Unit output speaker wires go into the KEYLOC (cutting them, which prevents them from going into the OEM AMP) or Do the Amplifier output speakers wires go into the KEYLOC (cutting them, which prevents them from going into the speaker (it is an OEM dedicated sub) the video suggests there is no OEM amplifier, it simply says to use with OEM Head Unit, so it is kind of confusing. Thanks for the reply :)

The KISLOC 2 has more power handling (so, a wider range of audio systems it's compatible with) and has a powered remote wire built in. You can use this to turn on amplifiers without needing to find a switched turn on lead in the car's wiring.

Just bought the audio control lc2i and installed it.... Very disappointed with the low lows. It definitely cuts the very lowest region, below 33 hz, and I've had to use my DSP to bring it back. The Audio control LC2i also induced noise into the mids and highs, when the accubass was "kicking in". When turned way up, it's SUPER noticable. Great for the 99% of the average users that probably won't notice, but for those with big power and tuned to crush lows, it's garbage. It's also garbage for people that want pure sound quality. It adds distortion, upper midrange and higher, I could hear audible noise when accubass was active. I would have gone back to the cheap junk dollar store loc I had, to get my lows back and "clean sound". The signal was stronger, gains set at minimum on all amps, so it did it's job there. I'll give it it's small bit of credit there. Those of you wanting to add amps, if you like, and listen to music with low low bass, below 30hz, the audio control lc2i WILL NOT give you what you want. If your wanting top notch clean signal, the lc2i also won't give you what you want, UNLESS you turn accubass off, completely. Waste of $ for me, I'm throwing it in the garbage where it belongs and going with something else. Hope this helps someone not waste $ like I have. $100+ right in the fucking trash. I'll post back when I find something that truly gives your amps ACTUAL clean, high voltage, FLAT, signal. I'll be looking into the device in the video. Thanks for the upload. Appreciate the time you take to show others how important an actual unmolested, clean signal is. When you have a lot of power on tap, it's absolutely everything. I can't stress that enough. Your driver's will thank you with longevity and proper sound..

Factory head units not only have bass cutoff limiters but they also have frequency DSP filtering. So this whole video is pointless. If you have an after market head unit you have 2 volt - 5 volt RCA outputs which are exactly what the amplifier inputs are designed to work best with.
@KICKER-AUDIO2 жыл бұрын
There are two points to clarify here. The first is that factory audio systems do in some cases add filters to lower bass output. They do that to protect their factory speakers, which can limit the performance of aftermarket equipment. To determine this, you would use an RTA which many companies offer, in conjunction with a pink noise track that we offer on our website for free. Using the KEY amplifiers or LOC, the DSP automatically detects that filter and boosts those frequencies to help add bass and give a smooth frequency response to work with. A full video is available here to show you how it works: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKi6mJp_m7Z7p68 The second point about aftermarket head units WAS, some time ago, completely true. Back in the day, RCA outputs bypassed the factory amplifiers, so it was a cleaner signal. This costs a bit more to do from a manufacturing standpoint, so all but the higher-end head units simply step down the pre-amplified signal before being sent to the RCA's. This amplified, then stepped-down signal is not as clean, but makes the deck a bit more affordable. We made a detailed video about why high level is actually a better signal here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYLdeXyKarF5nbs
