Nice choice! Just so you don't have a hybrid model, you can add and get signal to both the sub and Kicker amps using the AudioControl LC6i: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc921/p_161LC6IB/item.html You can use this to tap in speaker-level for signal using your factory radio. You'll run RCAs from it to the amps.

Is this only 2 channels? I am using an LC6i at moment to get 4 channels out from my factory head unit to give me 6 channel output to two amps, one 4 channel for the speakers and a mono block amp for the subs. How would this work in this situation? or is Kicker planning on bringing out a multi channel version?

How do you connect this to a Mark Levinson factory amp in a Lexus? I’m trying to replace the factory subwoofer with a bigger subwoofer and separate subwoofer amp while keeping the factory Mark Levinson amp in place to run the factory speakers. The recommendation from various forums has been to tap into the factory subwoofer output of the Mark Levinson amp for the input signal instead of the left and right rear fill channels, but how do you do that when the subwoofer output only has two wires and the kicker LOC2 has 4 wires (a left signal input and a right signal input). Do I tie the two positive wires on the LOC together and then the two negative wires of the LOC together first and then connect them to the single sub output wires of the factory amp ?

Hi Ko, sounds like you're working on a nice upgrade! Your best bet is to tap in at the radio or amp via the front left and right speaker outputs. Kicker offers a wiring diagram via their manual on page 7 here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20200717174200/Manuals/206/20647KEYLO.PDF

Will this work connecting to a factory subwoofer high level outputs? I have a 2013 Civic Si with premium audio so the subwoofer would only provide two wires (+ and -). Therefore would I just wire this into the left inputs on the kicker 47keyloc? Or would I need to split the + and - to wire into the left and right inputs? Thanks!

When using a 4-channel line output converter like the Kicker 47KEYLOC with left and right inputs (4-total wires) you would use jumper wires to connect your two outputs to the four inputs. We can always help guide you with our Lifetime Technical support provided for free with any purchase.

Im thinking of replacing my Pac lp3-2 loc with this. Im currently running a mono amplifier and my current loc is tapped into my rear speaker on a 2021 subru legacy. Im finding im not getting a consistent signal output, would this be a good option?
@crutchfield

I found in my wife's Subaru Forester that the rear speakers did not receive as strong a signal as the front speakers. Installing the Kicker 47KEYLOC would provide the DSP signal correction with a potential signal boost, but I would advise trying your PAC LOC with a speaker input signal from the front left and right speakers first to see if that improves the sound.

Hi, I just bought one of these from you so I could add an aftermarket sub/amp sub to my 2024 genesis gv70. The gv70 came with Prestige package that has the Lexicon system. I've heard from other GV70 owners that because the prestige has an active road noise cancellation technology, that you will hear it through the aftermarket sub once installed. Will this keyloc clean up the signal from the amp? I already tapped into the left and right subwoofers. Someone on a genesis forum said they used this to remove the road noise signal, but I was hoping someone else could confirm this.

Noise is often caused by a grounding issue. You may want to double check the ground connections as well as make sure the new amp's ground location in the vehicle has been cleared of any coating on the metal. Also, we have an article that can help identify the cause of the distortion: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/learn/car-stereo-diagnose-noise.html Sometimes distortion comes from an amp's gain not being set right. We have a couple articles and a video covering the process to set the gain on an amp: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/learnsearch/amp_gain.html

What is the difference between keyloc and kisload4 ? Or do i need both?
@crutchfield
@crutchfield Жыл бұрын
The Kisload4 is a device that creates a speaker-like resistance that some radios need to see before they will output audio. The need for this part will depend on the vehicle you are hoping to install an amp into and if the stock speaker will remain installed. Will the stock speaker still be installed? If it will not, what is the year, make, and model of your vehicle? The KEYLOC is a 2 channel line output converter that also has a DSP. Given that it is 2 channel, if your vehicle and application does need a KISLOAD part, there is a 2 channel model that is better suited to use with the KEYLOC. It is the KISLOAD2 found here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_20646KILD2/item.html

The JL Audio FiX 86 is also a solid contender. The Fix86 will automatically correct factory time delayed outputs before summing the signals and equalizing them with dual, 30 band, 1/3 octave equalizers. Its differential-balanced inputs accept virtually any OEM analog audio signal, from low-voltage line-level to high-power, speaker-level outputs (up to 30V RMS). The Fix86 offers three sets of Left/Right RCA outputs with Front, Rear, and non-fading Subwoofer.

While it can be used with aftermarket radios this will counter the EQ settings of the radio and any time alignment adjustments that you may have set on it.
