I think how fast they are depends on the experiment. Barry had the most efficient lab so it effected him more, Jay had a good lab but it was awhile ago so not as advanced so he wasn't as fast, and since Wally just used some chemistry set he got the least results(that is just my theory though)

Jay Garrick was a research scientist in a good company lab, but he lost consciousness and inhaled less of the hard water compound in his accident. Barry had a successful experiment and inhaled the most of it over the longest duration, because Wally's experiment blew up his garage. He got the least, which is why he can basically only run at sub-sonic speed. In his youth, Jay was about as fast as Barry, and by Bloodlines, he's possibly even slower than Wally.

I don't know if it's because of the meta-gene. I always thought the varying speeds had to do with how well done the experiment was done. Allen was faster than Garrett because he was a better scientist and he did it deliberately rather than an accident. Conversely, West was slower because he was using a rudimentary chemistry set and due to his naïveté.

I don't know why people are ragging on him because of this video. This information is all based on the Young Justice TV show. I am pretty sure Wally didn't die, he just was absorbed by the speed force.

I have the idea that the chemical experiment went like this, corresponding to how much Speed Force they can access: 1.- Jay Garrick did it by accident. 2.- Barry Allen did it on purpose, replicating Jay Garrick’s accidente and perfecting it. 3.- But, Wally West did it on purpose but kinda screwed up. Which has happened in both the CW the flash and justice league the animated series. So if what happens at the end of season 2 of young justice, it is most likely that Wally is on the speed force.

I can easily explain the reason for the different levels of speed force manifestation between the Flashes. Jay's accident was an accident, and thus was uncontrolled, meaning that he could have got any level of speed. Barry's recreation of this was in controlled circumstances, and he had probably done the necessary research to figure out how to get maximum connection with the experiement. As for Wally, I'm not sure that a home chemistry set is very powerful - and considering that he managed to blow up his garage in the process, it's reasonable to assume he did something wrong along the way, meaning his connection was weaker.

Waitai Can I just point out that we are discussing Earth-16, not Earth-1? Things are much different in this universe, such as the Flashes' speeds. I will remind you that on Earth-1, initially Wally was able to run at Barry's speeds until the events of Crisis On Infinite Earths, which was when he got his mental block. Here, on Earth-16, it is fully established that Kid Flash has never been as fast as the Flash - most likely because of the reasons I stated above.

My theory is that the the experiments were the cause of this. The first flash is slower than the second because the accident perhaps was less powerful than the intended experiment and kid flash's power was weaker because his experiment wasnt powerful enough

I think the reason different people have access to different amounts of the speed force due to just the amount they can handle at any given time both mentally and physically. If they want to get faster they would probably have to train just like any other super power or overcome some physical or mental boundary.

Javian Brown They could also charge themselves with energy, just like Reverse Flash did in the Flash Season 1, or steel another speedster’s super speed, just like when Barry gave Zoom his speed in the Flash Season 2, orwear some sort of armor that enhances their speed, just like Savitar did in the Flash Season 3, or spend a lot of time in the speed force, just like Barry did the Flash Seasons 3 and 4. Maybe if a speedster did all of those things, they would be extremely fast.

Hello i'm using my friends account so he is going to be pissed, but I have a theory on why the 3 indivisuals have different speeds mach's, if you go and watch the flash season one pilot, then you will see that his lightning strike was a big one, now the lightning is basically a "SMALL" part of the speed force, but season one flash and two have a massive difference, the speed of barry, the reason why? Velocity 9 and the speed force tampering throughout the season, But they're is a theory that sense barry is tampering with the speed force that he is losing speed yet is still running and at the Velocity to burn his leather boots.

I think that a part of how fast you get is how the experiment was conducted, in the first case, it was a freak accident, pure chance. And in wally's case, it could be argued the experiment failed, the set he used exploded, tbf its sheer luck he didn't die. Let alone get any sort of power. In comparison to those two berry's experiment was devised in a controlled environment with probably the best equipment for the time. It was the ideal environment for it, something the other two lacked. So he got the most out of it

The reason for the different speed is given in the Wiki: In the case of Jay Garrick, it was an accident, while in the case of Barry and Wally, it was more controlled, though it was still a bit of an accident in Wally’s part which is why he’s still slower. And obviously in Bart’s case it’s genetics.

My theory is that Barry was likely an adult and probably had access to a good lab and materials or at least able to save money from a job to buy all the things required (and some things only an adult might be able to buy) while Wally was a kid when he made the experiment and thus, had less materials. Considering this was in his bedroom, he might have even used a kids chemistry set. No matter what, the quality of chemicals and materials used were likely inferior. The first experiment was an accident. The second was after the first one was studied and perfected the process after understanding it. The third had an understanding of the process but inferior materials and likely changed a few parts to replicate a reaction with the chemicals Wally had available. So while it did work, it would not work as well. This is also why the bedroom exploded.

Jay garrick was a bit old so not quite as fast as Barry but very experienced so he was still quite fast, and Wallys speed was developing because he was also developing in that he wasn't finished growing yet, when he became an adult he'd be faster naturally

I think that because Wally got his powers as a kid they were slower as the speed force fumbled to connect with younger dna, the explosion also damaged him so he lost some power. Jay was slower than Barry because Jay's accident had less power because it was a random unplanned event, but with the power of *SCIENCE* and just forcing the powers upon him Barry got more power as he had a huge impact, although the genetic makeup theory is a great one.

I believe that because Barry Allan was the originator of the speed force, as in he creates the speed force for every step he take, and him being dead set against wally west from having speed-force powers subconsciously Barry put a limit on how much speed-force he would allow wally west to have access,. And for Jay Garrick, Barry looks at him as an old man, and older people are generally slower then younger people, therefor Jay was slower.

Even if Berry somehow subconsciously limited his speed for to his age, he had the ability before Berry so that would mean at some point he was either the same speed or faster than Berry which is simply not true. the variations in speed could have something to do with either the chemicals and variables involved in each speedster's accident. Jay's accident was a gas along with other chemicals mixed in his lungs which gave him his speed; Barry's involved chemicals and lightning; and Wally's recreation of the Flash's experiment went awry, which might explain his slower speed. Another explanation could have something to do with the physiology of the speedster. Another explanation might be that Kid Flash knows deep in his subconcious mind what high speeds could do to him, so he unknowingly holds himself back for his sake. In the Justice League cartoon series, the Flash is Wally rather than Barry. In one particular episode, he ran so fast, he faded away into the Speed Force (which is also what happens to him at the end of season 2 of Young Justice). After being pulled out with the help of Hawkgirl, Superman, J'on, Batman, Wonderwoman, and Green Lantern, Wally says that if he went that fast again, he would never come out of the Speed Force again.

Well for the yj origins, the differences in speed was due to the differences in scale. Jay used old technology so his speeds were due to technological limits. Wally was also technological limited due to the restrictions in home chem sets. The reageants are lesser quality, and he couldn't generate the same energy barry could. Not to mention wally messed up somewhere (as there was an explosion) Wally had incomplete powers because he did an incomplete replication. Barry on the other hand being a forensic scientist had access to top quality chemicals, which is presumably why the experiement worked best for him

Barry is faster than Garrick because the accident that cause Garrick’s speed was just that, an accident, while Barry intentionally caused the experiment to go bad. On the other hand, Wally wasn't exactly top yet as youngsters aren't that smart yet and he had equipment that were just found across the street. So perhaps he did it wrong and/or not as effectively as Barry did.

They probably have different levels because of the way the accident happened the first was a complete accident so he had no control over the reaction while Barry did it on purpose so he had more control over how the experiment worked and lastly kid flash was created by a chemistry set which usually doesn't have the best grade of chemicals usually slightly diluted so it would obviously be weakest

the reason Kid Flash isn't as fast as Barry is that he used a at home chemistry kit rather then a full grade lab. Difference in quality of materials.

Maybe it's because of the speed force itself that Wally isn't as fast as the other flash. It is shown in the TV show, The Flash, that the speed force has a mind of its own with rules of its own. It could be that Wally didn't meet the criteria to be faster. Also, it's an experiment. When Wally tried the experiment, there could have been some kind of error that had him end of in the hospital and develop his powers slower, therefore, being slower than the other flashes who performed the experiment

From what i heard jay garrik was in a car crash and got his powers and the reason he was slower than barry is barry didnt do it exactly but also he did it with chemicals in a professional lab and kid flash or wally did it in hos garagge resulting in less effectual speed

It could have something to do with age and how the experiment was done. Since Wally was significantly younger than Barry and Jay, and his powers were growing rather than out right displaying there and then. It might be that rather than the ability to use the speed force, Wally gained the ability to absorb some kinetic energy and display powers similar to Barry, but not the same. Either that or He’s powers are growing as he grows.

Jay is also a metahuman in the comics.. Not only the speed force, he IS a meta-human, unlike the other flashes. We know this from when the speed force was apparently destroyed, and Jay could still run at maybe the speed of a car?

I like to theorize that their age had something to do with the powers. That Jay was a little past his prime so he was a little slower than somebody in the peak of his life like Barry. Where is Wally is slower because he was so young when he got his powers. Basically to be at top flash speed I think you need to be an adult in the prime of your life. Too young or too old will make you a little slow

Personally I thinks it's a mixture of his dna makeup and the chemicals because like you said its was a kid science kits so it would have the correct chemical and wally was a kid so when he made the device he was probably going by what it said in the notes

The reason why they all have different speed is because the speed force seen that Barry was trying to recreate Jay's experiment but Barry did the experiment wasn't the same so the speed force granted Barry more speed then Wally recreated Barry experiment the same way so since Wally was doing something all ready done the speed force granted him slower speed but the speed force allowed Wally to get faster for some reason

Maybe its the equipment, the first flash had tech from the 50's or something and then 2nd flash had more modern equipment. Maybe the quality of the equipment is how successful the experiment will be. Like how kid flash used a person chemistry set instead of an actual lab.

jay garrec had hard water plus lightning and he does not get his powers from the speed force. berry had cemicals in a cubboard and got struck by lightning. wally was visiting berry wanting to meet the flash and the same thing happend too wally right infront of berry and wally did not know berry was the flash until he got his iconic kid flash suit. Bart got his speed geneticly. also bart berry and wally use the speed force also wally put a mentil block on himself so he wasn't faster than his mentor then overcame it and was the fastest flash
