@@TheAcenightcreeper because kids soak in information like sponges, but also because they soak in inspiration in the same manner. What seemingly looks cute and innocent to us, may end up being what inspires this kid to want to learn how to fix it himself, and he may go on to teach others the same as he was taught.

That is so spot on! The reason, I am finishing my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, is my grandfather that taught me soldering using his Weller Soldering station at the age of 4. All the times I was in his "soldering room" (hobby-room rather) on my Grandfather's lap getting taught how this and that component or circuit works, that he created and often manufactured himself at home in runs of douzens, either sold directly to only his chosen few Magicians, or sold in batches to a German distributor for magician's special effect-equipment, lots of supplies, and consumables. I started repairing any electronics in my very first teen-years, and can now (25 y/o) fix almost everything for almost always low single digit costs in Parts... A lot of experience is involved though! And definitely some special tools (expensive!) measuring equipment or Hot-Air Station, Fluke Multimeter,... But needed most importantly is your own personal never to fail, life-dependable deep understanding of all the invisible deathtraps lurking where exactly in your exposed/defective products, or Electronics in general!

@@angelm007 Play therapy typically consists of sand play, imaginary play, for some it's just playing with toys, etc., but it's often offered in schools for elementary aged kids that have been through traumas. For myself it was just that my parents had divorced and I was able to utilize play therapy to get to really sorting through what was going on. It gave me time to think. That's what play therapy is about in my opinion. Sorry this is kinda long-winded but figured I'd give a proper answer from my point of view since you asked.

Look how much new stuff he taught this kid in less than a minute! I bet he let the kid watch and help him while he worked on Mama's car. Just developed a budding mechanic or future engineer. It only takes a spark (and some respect) to energize a kid's curiosity and maybe change the trajectory of a young kid's life. Hope this kid checks back in in about 10 years and lets the world know how this short interaction and time and interest spent by this adult impacted the trajectory of his life. (Haha, see what I did there?...😉)

I'm a carpenter. Honestly my favorite days are when I get to show a kid how cool it is to work with wood. A couple weeks ago a mom was walking her son home from school and I overheard them talking about what he wants to be when he grows up. He saw me gluing up a 15ft handrail and complimented me on my work. I said "thanks buddy! Do you think you might want to do this? We need more carpenters! And you can make a lot of money!" He said "could you teach me?" And I told him to call me when he turns 18 and gave his mom a card. I hope I hear from him one day.
