For the first part about him killing his dad, feel that a major part of it is left out. Since the upper class they came from is so hated, when they left that life the normal civilians hunted down his family and burned down their new home. They had to run and hide, eating out of the garbage to survive. Then this caused his mom to get sick and die, then the rest of his family (him, brother and dad) got tied to the burning wreckage of their new home and tortured by the civilians hunting them. After all that Doflamingo killed his dad for forcing that life and sorrow upon them.
