He doesn't go over this fact, but Baki actually won that last fight, he did say "lets just throw hands, no techniques", to be a tldr, and pickle had to throw a technique to beat Baki, so while he did lose the fight he won the war.

So the reason Pickle ran from Jack is because Jack COMPLETELY went against everything he knew about fighting/survival as an ancient man. His flow was Fight/Win/Eat to say Goodbye. He has NEVER experienced someone he finished eating COMING BACK for second smoke, and it freaked him the fuck out. Jack scared him by using pure background character attitude.

It came from an encounter he had with a wasp actually. He ate a wasp and it's poison began burning the inside of his mouth. He was genuinely shocked that something he already killed could still be hurting him. He sees those kinds of strong enemies as wasps and he's very scared of them
