Boy you hit the nail right on the head. I can only hope all my family will understand the physical and mental problems I have. I'm sure they will. Every time I see some one running down the street I wish I was them. Thanks again for all you do. Chuck.

I understand how you feel when you see someone healthy. I think it was four or five months into doing dialysis and I was feeling better then I had in a long time. I decided to try jogging for part of my walk. For the next two days I couldn't even walk! I've had to realized that just isn't something I can do anymore.

i am 17 and i am gonna start dialysis tomorrow i am so scared and rn i am watching yt videos to gain some information on it and stumbled upon your video and I wish my family would understand that I am not being lazy. They get so angry and force me to get out of bed even if when I am just sitting on bed they yell at me. I just have no energy to move my body and my muscles and bones hurt so much

You certainly summed it up nicely. Those around us dont understand how to process or the depth it changes or adjusts life while presenting all's well. Such a complicated dynamic to grasp if never experienced a life changing condition. Education is the key and true engagement.

Thank you so much my Husband will find out tomorrow if dialysis will start. He’s so scared and I’m so overbearing and driving him crazy. I’m trying to help but tend to overlook that maybe it’s overwhelming by me being so overprotective of him. I will for sure show him these videos. ❤

It is scary and I'm so glad that you are being supportive. My husband has been a great help to me. He came with me to learn how to do Peritoneal Dialysis and he made sure he understood what needed to happen. He often asked if he could do the set up and hook me up to the dialysis machine so that he wouldn't forget how to do it. Sometime it was frustrating to me, especially when he made sure I was taking care of myself but I loved that he really cared about me and what I was going through.

I been very lucky I have been able to live on one kidney for 55 years, I had a scare a few weeks ago when my blood work came back less then it should. It look like it was my blood pressure meds but it was scary. I been trying to get myself knowable about this cause am only 1 kidney from where you are, my heart go out to anyone having to deal with this. I have worked in a dietary department in a care center and dealt with many residents on kidney d. The worst diet I ever had to deal with was the renal diet. Please take care of yourself and I will be following your vedio.

This is very informative. I knew someone a few years ago who was on haemodialysis. 3 times a week from memory. I realised the time that was consumed but your video has made the sheer mental as well as physical exhaustion which kidney failure patients have to deal with. Diabetes T2 with diet, exercise and low Metformin only is a breeze in contrast to kidney failure. Thanks for this.

I have watched the first few videos of the broadcaster, and they all have English-Chinese automatic translation software, which is very good!! But this episode does not have automatic translation software and subtitles, so I basically cannot understand the content of your program , I wonder if the broadcaster can re-upload KZbin with translation software?
@kidneykeeping Жыл бұрын
My guess it that when a video is new, you Tube's AI hasn't had enough time to translated. I hope that now that it has been a few days the English-Chinese is available.

What are the treatments or ways of slowing of progression of kidney disease (and possible reversal of kidney disease), other than dialysis and transplant? I hear people say get diagnosed early so one can get “treatment” early. I’ve never heard what this treatment is. I can do my own research on pub-med (USA) eg, but I imagine I’m not the only person with this question. I know someone whose doctor hid from her that she had a GFR in the 50s; this GP had given the patient antibiotics she’d said she was allergic to, but the doctor didn’t take this seriously until a bit late. There likely were other causes too but this seems to have been the tipping point into symptoms showing rather obviously. Other MDs were critical of their colleague; any such approach is not intended by me in this request or suggestion for you to consider doing a video on treatment for people who’ve just learned often by surprise they have some kidney disease. What do they do next. And if MDs maybe feel they failed a patient, please address how to find specialists or discuss openly (eg “ I’m not going to try to sue you- right now I need my energy and ALLIES not blame games”). When we learn all is NOT well, what next? GREAT VIDEO SERIES. SUPER PUBLIC SERVICE BY YOU, making so much good come from your own negative experiences. THANK YOU, ALL BEST.
@kidneykeeping Жыл бұрын
There isn't really a "treatment" but more like a life style change of eating healthier and exercising more. There are medications to help control Blood Pressure and Diabetes, (two main causes of Kidney Disease) but those medications control the symptoms rather then fixing the actual problem and I think doctors rely to much on medications sometimes. Thank you for your comment and video suggesting. I do want to make video's to help and support not only those dealing with Kidney Failure, but those just learning the have Kidney disease and what they should do now. Thanks again for your positive comment!

I have been on Dialysis for 18 months now , it's not too bad and better than death ! When we are over weight we do not realise that this condition increases our blood pressure which then leads to kidney failure as we age . Keep your weight down and eat a healthy diet .

Not a doctor, but I get that a lot. My eye doc says it's just like a bruise. Its not an issue. If it affects vision or us painful get it checked. If not, it's not an issue. My dad and I both with kidney disease get those broken blood vessels all of the time. Glad he's able to exercise! That's awesome!
