Scott is her partner, they live together under the same roof but if he isn't allowed to share the discipline with the mother, then it's obvious she doesn't trust him, and if this is the case, then they should end their relationship. One can't build a healthy partnership without trust.

If they are her children from another relationship then the discipline should be left up to the mother. Besides a time out if the step-parent is watching them and they need to be punished. Beyond that they shouldn't be disciplining children that don't belong to them.

@@ashleydawson2586 No bc would you just leave your child/children to a family friend or relative or nanny and tell them that and then guess what?! When they aren’t disciplined by them, that’s giving them free reign to truly set them up for a possible accident waiting to happen!! Do you think teachers and the schools shouldn’t have rules and discipline either??? Yes they most definitely do!! Same with any kind of household!! There’s rules everywhere you go in life!! Period!! And for good reason! And there has to be trust in a relationship especially when blending families!! Just bc one isn’t the father or mother doesn’t mean the children can get away with freakin murder! Rules are rules and discipline is needed for a good reason no matter who’s roof you’re under especially your own!! No excuse!

Letting a child have no limits is as damaging as too many limits.

Maybe more. Limits are a sign of care and protection; I’ve seen children with no discipline and they feel unloved. Also, limits help develop a secure person, who is able to exercise self control.

There are 7 in my family and my mom screamed empty throats or just turned it all out. My Dad tried but they would argue, she didn't want us to have consequences. We were the wildest, loudest and most chaotic family I've ever known. We needed discipline from them both but ultimately they divorced w/two teens left. I understand my mother now but it's still not any different except we have changed, not her.

When u remarry with children that new spouse is the stepparent & telling the kids they don’t have to listen to stepparent is wrong & child saying u r not my mother r dad & I don’t have to listen to u is also wrong. This lady is wrong in not stepping up & telling her kids this n man is your stepdad & u have to listen to & do as he’s told u 2. Thankfully my kids loved theirs & to them he was their father all the way.

While I agree with most of this, its also SUPER important if the child had their father in their life prior to step dad, the step dad should tell the child " I am in no way shape or form trying to replace your father, your dad will ALWAYS be your dad. However, your mom and I are married now, so that means we share the authority and discipline. Meaning you need to listen to me and do what is asked of you. If i give you respect, i expect respect to be given back, alright?"

One thing for picky eaters is if they eat, fine, if not, too bad. They won't starve. Let other kids take the food until the kid gets jealous and starts to eat dinner. Morgan gets to be around all those girls, cheerleading.

I don't understand how parents think that correcting a child once they start the wrong behaviors is crazy. Children as young as 6 months understand the word no they have heard. You have to stop thinking everything they do at the baby stage is cute because when they get older you no longer think it's cute. And then people don't want to hear their children cry why not if you know there is nothing wrong. Put the child in the crib or playpen for those naps and do what you need to do if they cry check on them without picking them up pat their back give a kiss talk to them and then leave. They will calm down and either play or go to sleep. The issues are the parents issues not the children at a young age. And please be a parent we are not their friend in the normal sense of the word.

Babies have no concept of right or wrong. They are exploring and learning about everything for the first time. Same thing with one year olds. Two year olds know when they aren’t supposed to do something. You can absolutely set up boundaries with young toddlers, but redirection should be used instead of discipline.

I think Supernanny rocks but it doesn't really seem like she's helping any of these families. The little boy with tantrums parents were basically told to chill out and no mention as to how to deal with the tantrum. I think the way she did things before was way more helpful.

Really? I often ignore a tantrum because giving it attention just makes it last longer and escalate. The mom was clearly causing the behavior because she kept having unrealistic expectations of cleanliness. Kids make messes! Shouting at kids makes them angrier and shout back at you. When she changed her behavior, the boy’s behavior improved.

I'm 49 years old woman, i have two sons! My parenthood wasn't simply because of big lack of knowledges how to be a good mother and first of all a GOOD WIFE! I think there is smt wrong in every society about not inform young people and prepare them for such important thing as a marriage! For me to have a family is most of expensive in terms of psychophysiology stress and moneys challenge! We are adults and we should be honest with ourselves when we decide to have a child, because education is not in the books IT IS IN OUR PARENT BEHAVE! if a women not respect her man (as it clearly showed in video with a stepfather) and viceversa how u pretend that your children would respect u!? OUR CHILDRENS JUST COPY EVERY OUR ACTION, WORD,THE WAY WE RELATE TO EACH OTHER! Good parenthood for all!

8:25 I was actually quite concerned with how Joe handled the situation. The child said that he was really mad at mum, of course this could have been a typical situation but what if the child has adhd or somthing! What if he is just frustrated because no one understands him. I have to say I don’t think you can just give out advice before knowing the full story. Other than that love u Joe😊

Jesus is exactly what is needed, and The Bible is a great parenting tool. Galatians 5 has a list of what to look for in friends: peace, patience, self control, etc… Lying and manipulation and constant arguing is behavior we keep a boundary with, not embrace, Romans 16v17. Wisdom is choosing Godly behavior, and foolish behavior is doing wrong, Proverbs 10v23. Life is more about than money, it’s about your soul, and choosing to have Jesus Christ be your Lord and Savior will promise your soul salvation forever, John 3v16. Every parent and every soul needs Jesus for guidance, help and salvation. God bless you all
