Thanks for watching, everybody! If I make another Intellivision video, what games should I play!?

Locomotion is my favorite intellivision game.

Great video. It was my first console and I have good memories. Utopia was my favourite to play with my brother. Astrosmash was a family favourite too. (part of the appeal was the controller worked well with that game) My first video game memories are watching my dad play dungeons and dragons and my mom getting scared of the monsters. Good times. Tron deadly discs is a great game too.

I’ve played some on my little brothers Intellivision and do have one favourite. Cloudy Mountain. You simply can’t play it with a regular joypad, but you could probably map your keyboard to simulate the controls alright. It controls like a twin stick shooter, you see. The numpad indicates 8 directions to shoot your arrow, so you need 8 distinct keys in the right order. The control-dial controls your characters movement. The coolest feature is the use of sound. When a monster comes near in the dungeon, you hear it. Different monsters have unique sounds, and this helps a lot evading the ones you’re not ready for. There’s a survival aspect too with your limited number of arrows. Not one to play blindly though. You need the manual or you’ll have a Bad Time. (By the way, there is more to Shark Shark. You can eat the shark. It’s dangerous, because you have to nibble the rear fin repeatedly. Risk/ reward.)

I was very impressed by the gameplay of Astro Smash which looks amazing for the Intellivision system here! It reminds me so much of Space Invaders arcade game! Great episode of (More Games) mate! 👍🎮

As someone who did play Intellivision back in the day, you aren’t missing anything. This is how fun the games are. And, if anything, you have a better experience since you don’t have to use the god-awful controller. The best way to play these games today is via the “Intellivision Lives!” collection for the GCN. That way when you get bored after 20-30 minutes you can play some much better games.

I mean, I've got more emulators than I know what to do with, so it wasn't a huge issue lol

Can't say that I've played any of these, or at least the Intelivision version of Dig Dug. Did play the 2600 version though. I looked, and have all of these games in my Intelivision folder though, so could check them out. From what I understand, Intelivision was the first system dad bought when he was a kid, then Colleco, then the 2600. Not sure if I could remember any Intelivision games without digging up the box of them in the basement, but was a few I remember enjoying when I was a little girl. Anyways, thank you, enjoyed your video.

Need a running bet: what's the actual square footage of Chéz Jim-san in Tokyo? Any takers? Gonna say right around 200 sq/ft... Astrosmash has no depth compared to games that preceded it like Space Invaders or Galaxian and Galaga, but I guess they did the best they could without being able to secure any licensing from Taito or Namco (Atari had exclusivity for a bit).
