MINI is still a UK company. All three plants that build a MINI are in the UK. Swindon, Hams Hall and Oxford. BMW is the parent that signs the paychecks.

This is awesome! such a fun little car. But I can't find the diverter valve you installed on this car. TurboSmart doesn't have it listed for the Mini. Could you please share a link for the Blowoff valve?

I have a R59 Roadster too, and I also have a AEM FRONT STRUT BAR, K&N Full Air Induction kit, Full Scorpion exhaust system, upgraded coils pack, but om far from done....... fully enjoy driving it, thou my everyday Car is a 1 Series BMW 1.6 Turbo!

I’m very partial to the 04 mini s so much fun on the back roads and in the mountains. Years ago wife and I were in the Puget Sound Mini Club so much fun on the rallies . Still own the car just barely over 101,000 miles yes original. Oil every 10,000 and did away with run flats the price is so ridiculous. Anyway bought it used in 07 and still runs like the very first day. One thing I’m not sure about our mechanics say the clutch pedal is too tight. I drove tractor trailer for a living and to me it’s like butter. Just saying and it’s original. Love it wife will never let me sell it . I’m 75 and can still get chirping in first through third

I have the AFE exhaust on mine and I highly DO NOT recommend it. Muffler Input AND output were both way out of whack, not even remotely straight. AFE sent me a new muffler and while slightly better was still jacked up. I ended up cutting the tips off, squaring everything up, and welding the the tips back on. And the drone was crazy, I added a resonator to tame that. The ONLY benefit to that exhaust is that it really does sound nice! I REALLY wish I had just bought the Magnaflow, been time and money ahead.

I see turbosmart has the diverter valve and the blow off valve, what would be the difference and why pick one over the other?

the DV recirculates metered air back into the intake. the VtA (dump) valve sends extra boost pressure to atmosphere and makes noise. The DV is best on modern turbo engines because of the design of the intake. A VtA valve may trigger a CEL due to the ECU not seeing expected values

Idk what he's got but a stock one is just as good. With a high flow intake filter you will hear the blowoff PLENTY loud, and it actuates the same, and more reliably.

Mate - Ias love tha AEM Torsion Strut in that Candy Apple Red and I really dig the short shifter. I have a 2011 Cooper S Clubman ive recently bought so Ill be doing all these mods - except the blow off valve .....reckon im a bit old for that stuff - ha ha ha . I have the engine / car matched K&N Peformance Air Filter Kit and im about to get the engine a Stage 1 remap. yes, as you are venting excess boost. however, a newer DV is best in this application.

Yup, n14/n18 engines hate VTA valves, the single best valve is the recirc from GFB

@@robinkim7711 I've heard people having issues with these TurboSmarts on the minis. They say they can't get them "adjusted" right. These guys don't mention any adjustment. Do you know if this product is not ideal or intended for the mini? Wondering if I should go with the GFB DV+, but this TurboSmart sounds WAY better!
