Wikipedia - It showcases the band's trademark effect with haunting guitar work and lyrics, and Hope Sandoval's detached vocals. David Roback's Robby Krieger-inspired psychedelic blues slide guitar style can be heard on the song "Free". "Ghost Highway" is another psychedelic rock track, with a fast rhythm. This song dates from the band's days as Opal and was initially slated to be the title track of Opal's second album. While not a commercial success, this album did establish Mazzy Star as a unique band with a unique sound. "Blue Flower" is a Slapp Happy cover from the 1972 album Sort Of.

One of my two favorite female vocalists of all time. Ann Wilson the other one.

Her music reminds me of the psychedelic music from the 1960s and I love it.

Listen to Opal and Rain Parade, those were Roback's bands before Mazzy Star and the centre of the West Coast psychedelia/Paisley Underground tradition.

Yeah, psychedelia meets Patsy Cline, sort of.

But she sings like no one else I have ever heard. Her own style which is wonderful. And David Roback always seemed to give her the perfect guitar to go with it.

A true musical legend, she only played when felt like it, never chased fame or money, too bad that left us with few materials and appearences from her though :(

Mazzy Star alone has 6 studio albums, the last of which released in 2018. Hope Sandoval never stopped making music! She had a backing band, The Warm Intentions that released a lot of albums, and she still collaborates and releases music with other artists. It's pretty much all good to great.

@@rumo510 But Mazzy won't ever play again. Mazzy was David & Hope. She's crushed David died. That's it for Mazzy. :( Glad I got to see the last tour with my daughter.

@@rumo5106 Studie albums? One from 2018? I thought Seasons of your Day was their last album? Followed by an EP and a live album
