ok but are we gonna talk about the japanese subtitles? they’re mostly written in hiragana and simpler kanji, and the stuff that’s written in more complicated kanji has a hiragana transcription over it. in japan, they put these types of subtitles over kids’ cartoons. this is sick. i love it.

It adds to the illusion that this is a cheery song to prevent anyone who only scratches the surface to figure it out immediately.
i don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but i think the fact that the child constantly mentions feeling "good" refers to the fact that, when subjected to extreme injury and the brain knows you can't recover from it, you don't feel any pain- in fact, you feel bliss and even a sense of peace so, maybe this will be some solace to anyone upset by this song; that at least the child felt peace in their final moments
@andyzhang78903 жыл бұрын

@nihilmr3 жыл бұрын
@@andyzhang7890 thats not true- you still feel the pain. its only after a while once you've become used to it you feel bliss. its from being relieved of the pain you felt and after you forget how it felt you feel free. your nerves work lolz. interpret it as birth as its the only thing i can think of at the moment, women find the pain so unbearable they forget it after the procedure is over. they remember it hurt, but cant remember exactly how it felt. the child felt bliss from all the pain after and thats why they said it felt good. the child says they gave into the good feeling and thats because hes finally losing consciousness after it

The toys “melting away” was the most heartbreaking part of this song to me. It really just blatantly reminded you of the potential this child had that was so suddenly ripped away by death. Horrific things being described from children’s perspective...in Gommenne, Gommenne, and now this. I think the reason why this so deeply disturbs people is because not only are you hearing material that would disturb an adult from the perspective of an innocent little child who should never, ever, have to even know such things exist, but hearing that activates your parental reflexes-even if you don’t want to be a parent, it’s like we have a built-in longing to keep children safe. Maybe a survival reflex to ensure we live on...I’m thinking too hard in an attempt not to get freaked out any further...

I'm not sure, but that one part just.. It shows how quickly their life can be taken away, and.. It sorta makes me think that the kid was thinking about the good memories with his parents as if he was trying to ignore their sad expressions and just wanted to remember the happy times with them before he died.

If you look really close at the end, you can see a single tear drop from the parents' eyes. That made me shiver. Along with the dead stare that literally makes this song even sadder. Kikuo, this song is beautiful but it makes me so sad.

Something I noticed that I haven’t seen anyone talking about is at 4:34 when you see the the soldier’s sword flashing and waving while it’s in the music box. Typically in some cases when an accident occurs, there will be a police officer directing traffic using a thing a traffic control wand, which are plastic batons that flash and light up and you typically move them to the left and right to move traffic away from a crash or area you don’t want other drivers to go near. So, in this case, the boy may be interpreting the the police as soldiers, and their swords as traffic control wands that are directing oncoming traffic away from the site of where he was hit. I know it’s a tiny detail, but it really clicks with the whole “the soldiers are police officers” theory that many people have with this video.

like the pinned comment says, its about a boy who died in a bicycle accident. insert me interpreting what some of the lyrics means. and thank you to other commenter for their interpretations, it helps me understand the song better. 0:32 - 0:54 : the parade is the people who attend his funeral, being thrown away represents him being buried. 1:00 - 1:24 : later in the song, it mentions narrow cracks. we can assume that he bumped into a crack, sending him flying off his bike and under a car (the music box). a running car, by the "trembling" part. he's hit his head, his blood seeping out onto the pavement into a big star. 1:26 - 1:39 : the soldiers would be the paramedics, and the gunshots i would presume to be equipment they used. the performance would be him in the hospital, the doctors desperately trying to save him seems never ending, and a long process. 2:06 - 2:25 : earlier in the song, the boy describes the tremors of the car to be relaxing, so like a lullaby, he was lulled to his death almost. 2:45 - 3:11 : this is self explanatory but ive added an inference of my own. the wind was almost exciting, and i would've guessed he let go of the handle bars. 3:13 - 3:25 : as the road goes narrow and he rides down a big slope, the bicycle fastens and he can't steer properly. the rest i haven't fully dissected but i hope you agree lmao?

This song is absolutely insane. The melody, the lyrics, the animation... Everything about it is perfection. It's also so very sad. From what I understood, it's a child that found great joy in dying and is singing about how their parents are looking at their corpse. I mean, a child? Being this happy to die? "Don't look at me with those eyes, mama, or I'll be embarrassed about dying." Oh. My. God. Kikuo, I have no idea who hurt you this badly to create such an emotionally painful and beautiful masterpiece, but I hope you're happy now. Wherever you are 💗
I actually feel so sorry for this kid because he called himself an idiot and shamed himself for dying and making his parents sad, i just wanna give the little kid a hug, he deserves a hug
Dear god. Only now do I realize how sad this song actually is, when put into perspective. So this young child, one that was still living a very carefree and vibrant life-- His parents gave him lots of toys to play with and he had a bright imagination, a wonderful relationship with his parents themselves... The child dies. In as simple a way as a vehicle accident, but when put in depth it can seem horrifyingly morbid and really sad. Because his body parts and such get crushed and cracked and popped and worse, under a tire, perhaps. I bet everyone seeing that accident was heavily traumatized by the sight. I would say one of the only good things about this incident is that the child seemingly enjoyed the moment of his death. He must have had his nerves killed or something, as he only focused on the enjoyment of being crushed into nothingness. I'm unsure how he could've felt that well dying-- and it looks like he agrees because he's actually embarrassed when his parents are weeping over his death, but he just thought of how fun it was to die. And his parents have to deal with their only child suddenly being ripped away from them. They spent lots of time with him having hope that he would grow old and well, yet those aspirations were debunked, and down came tumbling all that happiness and livelihood for naught. They had to bid farewell to all of the toys and comic books gifted to the child, a goodbye to the thought of ever raising that child to adulthood... Long story short: Kid died too early. And messily. Dreams shattered. Sad.

I will never forget you my little girl, who was waiting for her coffin and hearse in a cold day... I promise we won't remind your body like that, that terrifying view doesn't suits you. I just wanted to say that things are completely different when its about dying like that, losing your child is always the hardest thing but imagine seeing your beloved son/daughter like that.. she/he was happy and laughing only morning and after that... There's no way to make yourself relax with words like "she was a child, she died less pain atleast" so this would be the scariest thing ever. When it comes to the kids, it's even more scarier and sad. It made me think if i really want to have a child aftwr that...

@@bayangintokii4774 | God... Dear God... ... Yep. I'm... Surprised you had such fucked-up luck for that to happen in front of your own house. Honestly, I don't think I've even witnessed any death with my own eyes, even already-dead people. Though, my experiences of death are plentiful in terms of online. All are secondhand, as in, never knew any of the people died. Oh, hey, wait! One person I knew died. Me parent's girlfriend. But I didn't know her well enough(though I spent several days' worth of time with her). Anyway, I'm gonna go back to watching lighthearted stuff... Satan knows we need it. It sucks so damn bad y'actually witnessed that. Hope you're doing right.

when the body receives an injury that it knows it cant recover from it will shut down the nerves, and i believe the ling about his empty brain forming into a star may hint to the fact that when someone dies, its usually not all at once, in a case like this the kid was aware of the fact he was dying as it was happening so it translated into a blissful experience, and as a little kid you wouldn't understand that

This song hurts my soul. Knowing the translation makes the video ten times worse. Kudos Kiku for making me cry!

Honestly at 4:00 when the background voice says mama and papa while they both shed a tear was the worst part of the video.
