Well, Kilgrave DOES have a point - Jessica had a drinking problem before she met him. As she says in a flashback - "Would you put day-drinking under experience, or special skills?"
@therodiaX7 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't officially call that a drinking problem. It could be the case, but they really didn't give that much evidence that she actually had a full on drinking problem back then. Just that she always enjoyed alcohol, but not necessarily a full blown alcoholic like she is now. She striked me back then as just one of those 20-something party chicks who like to go out and drink a few days a week. She was probably in her early to mids 20s, which is around most peoples prime drinking days. She also was at least out and about socializing, apposed to now where she just necks a bottle of whiskey alone in her apartment all day. Kilgrave definitely is a major cause of her alcoholism, I feel like that flashback showed the before and after relationship she had with alcohol.
@Slingblade877 жыл бұрын
What *therodiaX* said. There's no indication that Jessica was an actual alcoholic, as opposed to just enjoying a drink every now and then, before she met Kilgrave. Her excessive drinking now is in large part to deal with the trauma of what he did to her. Yes, there was that "day drinking" line (which I found hilarious BTW), but that still doesn't mean she was an addict.
@OpenMawProductions4 жыл бұрын
@@Slingblade87 Yeah, actually, it does. Drinking during the day is not a good sign to begin with 2 + 2. Kilgrave had a valid point.

While Kilgrave TECHNICALLY has a point with the literal wording of 'take care of her', due to interpretation being a weakness of his if he isn't careful, the state of mind Jessica was probably in at the time after digging through all that concrete and who knows what before and knowing what Kilgrave always means AND the common use of that phrase meaning 'kill her', she probably just reacted automatically to the meaning rather than the words. Also, if she had subverted it somehow, Kilgrave would have simply clarified rather fast (unless she managed to think that taking care of Reva involved swinging that shovel at Kilgrave as hard and as fast as she could before he could yell 'stop'). But as she seemed to be in a bit of a daze even before the punch, she probably wasn't able to think straight, and Kilgrave's point flies out the window.

i feel like when he says something, it isn't the words that make people do what he wants but the intentions. So he's lying. That and the "I told a man to screw himself" were both lies. That makes sense And the "Hi, Hank" thing he made Hank say "hi hank" not "hi" not because of what he said but what he thought. Because he was distracted because jess can't be controlled. Maybe I'm wrong but he lies all the time.

@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 People sometimes do things on his command that he doesn't entirely expect, though.
