Poor old Exaction. I tried them out again only to confirm that yes, despite being very cool, it is still an uphill challenge into a lot of other teams

Mandrakes are still new and a l or of people don’t know their tricks. I think they’ll drop a bit once people start adjusting. Still strong, but no fellgore. They’re also really affected by terrain setups. They also have a few abilities that really need tuning.

Ah I think they'll hold at the 60% winrate level. Only do badly on Bheta Decima (which is just a bad killzone in itself). The team is just so mechanically strong but we'll see in May

@@CanYouRollaCritdo you think there’s any changes that can be made to BD to get tournaments to start using it? I’ve been playing games on it with my buddies, but a lot of local folks are not excited about trying it. And the local tournaments don’t seem to have any interest at all.

Funny how the numbers can work out. Puts me in mind of death watch, in 40k... Rumours aside, If everyone played with the detachment and did as poorly as they should have, they would probably have had a fix, but everyone takes a vanilla detachment and the win rate climbs to 'bad, but not extreme' and so they keep getting nothing 🤦🏻‍♂️😆

I genuinely cannot think of a single reason why Farstalkers should be up there. Either someone out there is playing them significantly differently, or the boards at these events are significantly more Kroot friendly. That's as close as I can get. Maybe a faction focus video in the future, John? With someone who knows better than us? :D

In the performance data i couldnt find the mandrakes, so i was wondering where they would rank

The performance chart has been updated to not display factions that have either less than 50 games or 10 GT picks. Due to how it works, small sample sizes can warp it (Ideally I'd like to see 100 games and 30 GT picks, but for Killteam that would filter out too many factions, so I went with 50/10 to at least have some standards). That chart is at it's best in the quarterly reports, where nearly all bespoke factions have enough data. But it doesn't hurt to show it in the monthly reports.

I'm curious of why the kommandos discrepancy of high level success vs average player nerf is argued. Is there some statistical or anecdotal data of this? The stats represented here show them as distinctly average. At a glance, their success at tournaments seems quite reasonably explained by them being the most popular faction 🤔. Was their success rate at podium finishes etc. perhaps similar before, while the overall win rate was higher?

From a logic point of view, what makes any given team do well at a small event vs a large event (or vice versa)? Why would a team tank at small events and then be in the top three in large GT+? Is it that the GT+ draws higher skill players? Or are some teams better for all-comers whereas other teams are more likely to get blocked out by their counter-team in a larger event?

Likely because the better players of that faction will play in longer events and some factions just struggle in the format in general

In a different note, Hearthkyn are performing a little better but are certainly not dominating. Are they balanced now?

A spread between a high ratio of winning 3/4 games vs top 3 placement dosn't represent in a spread of talent in the playerbase but represent a team which can win easy again many times, but not at all against certain ones. Which should be true for such an extreme team like pathfinders

Scouts need a buff. At a minimum, the Sergeant's +1 APL to another Scout need to not be visible but any Scout on the board.

With the size of the dataset, in general, I'm not sure it's accurate to say that Justian's 37 games, being a low number, are unreliable ( 1:50 ). Perhaps, if the others were all in the 1000's. Similarly, not including Nemesis and Mandrakes in GT-Long, as there was only one result ( 11:30 )... i expect this this might be because they didn't win (? - I don't actually know); thus, not confirming the consensus that they are good/too good...? I bet that if they'd each won a GT-Long, they'd have been on there ;-) I see Justian were omitted from the overall April Performance Data and plot, near the end - I was looking to see where they'd ended up... was this an error? Regardless, ty 😇

Just not enough games for all 3 and Justian weren't used in any GT Long events too

I'd rate 37 games as pretty low. Especially when you consider the fact that we're only talking about 11 players among all events. The general rule of thumb in statistics is you want at least 100 items in your sample size. That doesn't mean the data is worthless, just that you need to approach it with the right expectations. If they had like a 65% or 35% win rate, that might mean something even with low sample sizes. But 55% doesn't say much with such a small sample. When we move up to GT+ and GT-Long, smaller sample sizes are more tolerable because nearly all competitive Killteam tournaments contribute to BCP data. Even so, they typical 45%-55% goldilocks zone is less helpful for factions that produce less than 100 games.

Been playing on Beta-Decima and Mandrakes feel so bad I'd call them unplayable. Are tournaments just not using Beta-Decima terrain? Am I the worst player in human history?

​@@jackgebhardt2932 less activations are huge, removed fnp 5+, made it so they can't mutate, nerf sickening aura, nerfed hp gained, they were a good team especially in the hands of very good players, but that many nerfs gutted their playability.. yes gutted. some of those nerfs would be find but not all of them. no other team go so many nerfs... was a fun army, now it's just a useless army, see the graph of nobody playing them and the one who did had the most loses
