My issue with them is the lack of general use grenade.... i dont think theres any reason they shouldnt have krak and frag grenades. Additionally they have 0 way of accessing AP...maybe thatll change in the bespoke team. Given all that. I 100% agree that this is a fantastic starter army because theyre simple and flexible

I think it's a design decision as TSons/Warp coven have a similar lack of grenades. Which is a great idea, swap grenades for psychic, makes sense, but the problem is that I think Grenades have turned out to be more influential in a game than the designer's expected.

Older video, but I was just popping around and found it. I am assembling a squad of interceptors, and this video kept me happy. I would love to see a bespoke team for the Sons of Titan. Crowes Creed (a purifier team) or a real mixed bag team like the Deathwatch, which would be absolutely cool with the GK. I wouldn't mind new models, but if that doesn't happen, a refresh on the datasheet to restore the elite status would be nice. The lack of punch on the gunners is completely spot on, it's just better to keep your sword and use the bolter to maximum potential, at which no one can match these guys. 🎲⚔️

I'm losing hope we'll ever get one! It's taking a long ol time, that's for sure. I've been thinking of ways to get GK into a proper team that I can actually play, and so I've gone on this long arc. So the models are teeny tiny so they should be converted. Can do primaris assault intercessors, but I'm a G, so I'd do Custodes kitbashed with GK terminators. Make them the heft they should be! Then take those converted models and play them with Warpcoven rules, because that's really the only psychic specialist team. But that's a conversion and a proxy, going to be a bit tough to convince people to play that :P (although, can't lie, I just bought a bunch of blood angels death company to proxy as Void Dancers, so clearly I don't care TOO much)

Thanks for making this video! I was looking to make my very first kill team and my first ever war hammer minis. I have copied this set up but I built one guy with the double handed sword because it looked cool ha ha. I had loads of fun building the team and was impressed with just how much you can customise the stance of the mini. They are built just need to work out how to paint them now. Thanks again this was really helpful and I’m looking forward to getting them on the table.

The problem with the 3+ teams is that GK don't have access to AP weapons. This means that you need 2 of them to focus on a single target to kill it or wound it. This is probably the biggest limit.

Last Sunday I had 2nd place at a local tournament of kt18, after years of playing and seeing you playing GK on your early videos and I was thinking of changing faction before start learning kt21 but after this video I’m sticking to the knights of titan!

I think that GK are a solid starter faction, right up there with marines. They won't take you uo top tables against skilled opponents, but they'll take you far and teach you the game! Also a great faction to have lying around to give to a friend who is new to the game and wants a learner game.

I really appreciate this video!! I find the grey knights really fun as my first kill team, really my first Warhammer. It’s unbelievably important that all my guys act very similar when I struggle with the rules. The only down side is the models aren’t very cool, and not different from each other when they all have a bolted and falchion. I had so much fun with my first game! Your content is important to beginners that are curious about this hobby/game.

Really enjoyed this Andy. As someone who doesn't do competitive play ( just me and my son at home) it was imo a better faction dive than most of the others I've seen as they assume you have absorbed the rules of your faction of choice in a Borg type way. I've said this before but there needs to be more vids on how a faction works on the board may be showing turn 1,2,3,4 tactics. Movement is king everyone shouts along with don't get flanked. Then show us filthy casuals how to do it. If I'm playing Necrons against Harlequins how do the clowns do the flanking? How do the metal skeli Bois stop it? ( I mean they won't but that's a stoopid match up any way).

Thanks John! I think that there is room for faction focii aimed at all diffferent levels. I know exactly what you mean with the real life examples. I've considered doing a few videos like that, essentially a chess puzzle of what's the best move. I could do those and easily make it a series. I think that they wouldn't have any REAL value, but they might have a perceived value and be fun, so when I'm back home I will most likely play around with presenting a video like that :)

@@GlassHalfDead whilst I enjoy the others like Beeranid and co I just feel that it's 2 people or a group just essentially going " so you play Harlequins and they have all these movement shenanigans that can get you across the board and into the opposite drop zone in turn one don't they" then everyone laughs and go ohhhh yeh they do. Then don't actually tell you how to do it. There's probably a ton of stuff that casual players like me miss with regards to chaining strats and stuff.

@@johnmilik9909 Makes sense, sure. I think that's part of the format. He wants to keep things super concise and 11 minutes max, which means you have to gloss over the basics. I intend to do more of these faction focuses once I'm back home and can replace the TV with a greenscreen so it's much more readable and I'll have my mic back for good audio.

Not sure about those falchions. Here's an argument: when fighting, you want to delete the enemy unit as soon as possible to avoid taking damage, ideally on the first hit. That means you should attack pre-damaged units, yes, but also that you want your attack to deal as much damage as possible on the first hit. So, priority should be given to damage (aka power weapon+hammerhand) rather than amount of successess scored (where falchions/relentless shines). For shooting, yeah, relentless all the way of course.

That's a fair point! I think this is a video in itself. You're right that after X hits, the remaining hits don't matter, so we shouldn't focus on getting 5 hits because you're never going to use 5 hits. The reason falchions are useful is the consistency. It's not so much that they're ensuring 5 hits, it's that they're ensuring you don't spike the other way and only get 1 hit. They let you do what you expect them to do without worrying about dice. I'd have to go look at where things lie in a statistically average way to see the opponents that falchions are TECHNICALLY worse against.

Love the grey knights. Fun easy rules, though i wonder what else they could add to a strike squad for the bespoke rules. Maybe mix and matching between purifiers, regular knights, interceptors, and purgators? Would make sense since the games coming out next month. Great printable grey knights out there too for anyone looking for more truescale options.

@@Remixersoloman why do 3dmg to enemy CSM each time for total 12dmg over 4 APL, when can blast him for total 8dmg+ in 1 APL? Assuming he perfect guards every time. He fails to get 3 saves? BOOM dead CSM in 1 APL. Mathhammer aside, it is also about Action Economy. That, plus Dash > Astral Aim > Fire. Cant do this with stormbolter and expect to down a CSM in 1 activation.
