I love that you've stayed away from sponsors, let's me know I can still trust you, not that there was ever a doubt. I've been catching a lot of flak about how my lawn looks right now, but you and I both know, timing is everything. I'm not about "dominating", I'm about winning. Speaking of winning, Congrats on your pigs, beating Kansas, that was a real feat. I would've liked to have seen them go further, but it is what it is. I am, however, a Canes fan, and unbelievably we are still in it, both boys and girls. If it's not too much to ask, I would appreciate you rooting for us.

I've just learned over the years that's it's not even worth getting started until around the second week of April. Still too cool and wet right now. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 👊👊

Hi! I am very new to lawn care, I started watching your videos couple of weeks before, and love the way you simply everything hand explain without confusing beginners like me. I have a question What is your opinion about Scott weed and feel the granular ones, in comparison to the liquid one? Which one will give the better result in your opinion? Thank you for making these videos. I also have a request for you if you can make a video how to change the mulch of the flower bed and aftercare. That would be helpful. Thank you again.

Thank you. Glad you’re finding the videos helpful. Appreciate the kind words. I’ve heard from people that have seen good results with the Weed and Feed products. However I’ve never used one. Taking your advice from another video you made and started to throw down organic fertilizer all last years spring ,summer and into fall. I already see a difference in the grass but wanting to kill all the weeds we have in our lawn. Wondering if it's too early to kill weeds yet. Wondering if I should focus of growing our laws better before attacking the weeds. We have allot in our front yard but not so much in the backyard. Live in the North East. Love your videos! They have been a huge help in learning to take care of a large lawn :)

Thank you. Glad the videos are able to help you out. As far as weed killing goes, it just depends on your location and weather. Very informative videos. I wish I would of found your videos sooner. I live in South Carolina and have Centipede in my front yard and Bermuda in my backyard. I almost destroyed my yard this Spring by applying another weed killer product. After about a month of seeding and watering the yard is finally coming back. However, the downside is I'm assuming because of all the watering I've done, I've got a ton of weeds. Do you have any recommendations for treating the weeds in a newly reseeded lawn? Should I just wait till the Fall to start fresh with Spectracide granules pre emergent? I definitely don't want to kill the new grass that is finally coming up? Thanks for any suggestions.
@BudgetLawns Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Glad you found me. I don't worry about the weeds at all in the first year. Just mow a lot, water properly and fertilize to promote a dense turf and you'll start choking out weeds. After the first year, I start applying pre-emergent to prevent as many weeds as possible. Then use a post emergent safe for your grass types if necessary. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching.

@BudgetLawns Жыл бұрын
I would hand pull and wait until temps lower a bit. I sprayed on a hot day knowing it was going to discolor my Bermuda and it did pretty good. I was okay with that but I think cool season grass would have a harder time in the heat. Thanks for watching and the question.

Thanks again.
@BudgetLawns Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Appreciate the support. Glad to have ya here on the channel. Sounds like you might be at the point where you just need to go in and tear out weeds by hand. It's a sucky job, but if it's that bad, you don't want to go spraying a lot of chemicals around your bushes that you don't want to harm. Once you get it all cleaned up, you need to get a fresh layer of mulch down to help suppress weeds and keep them under control by regular pulling. That's what I would do at least. Thanks again. Hope this helps.

New subscriber here. Do I need a border edge between pine straw and a Bermuda lawn? The bed is a pine straw covered, downhill sloped, rose bed that meets my Bermuda lawn. Bermuda grows up and into the straw bed. Would a natural edge be enough to stop the Bermuda from scaling into the bed, or is a 8-10” grass barrier/edge needed?
@BudgetLawns Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub. I’ve had borders before and not borders. The border certainty helps keep the Bermuda out. However some will always find a way in. I’ve got live, natural edges between my Bermuda and mulch now. I definitely have to be more diligent about controlling the creeping grass into the mulch. It’s got an easier path without the barrier. Long story short, you don’t have to have one but it helps a little. It’s more of an aesthetic, preference thing. Appreciate ya.

I've never used it so early in spring while the grass is still coming out of dormancy. However, when I've used it after greenup, I did see some stress and browning in spots. Mainly because I go max on everything. I'm ok with the bermuda taking a slight hit to knock the weeds back faster. Thing about the bermuda is that it won't die. I read the instructions, and it said not to mow 2 days prior to treatment. My question is, should I spray the product now on the overgrown weeds? Or should I mow, wait two days and then spray?
