Mr. Pfeiffer’s story also resonates with me because my eldest aunt’s husband hit his head getting out of his car on the car door frame and was in great pain for a week. This was in 2020, just before lockdown, so late February. He spent 1 week tolerating the pain before trying to see a specialist. My mom found out the night before and when she saw his sister at Mass (Ash Wednesday morning) and told her-she was immediately alarmed and rallied everyone to send him to the hospital-scans revealed a massive brain bleed and he was operated on immediately. Spent almost 2 weeks in the ICU and then the first 6 weeks of lockdown being cared for at his sister’s house 5 mins away from the hospital. He would be dead if he had waited another day, he was already losing lucidity when they took him for the scans. My aunt (his wife) has dementia so she didn’t even understand something was wrong, plus he was downplaying the level of pain he was in.

I was reminded of a coworker who became a friend who I babysat for back in 1972 when you told the story about the gentleman who received a head wound while working. My friend slipped and fell hitting her head with great force at the restaurant we worked at. She was carrying a tray of food and when she went down she didn't get a chance to break her fall. She died at home two days later. Her children found her when they came home from school. She was only 32 years old. I'm sure you've heard about "Marge" the airplane that Major Ira Bong flew might have been found recently. Your story about the pilot made me think of Major Bong. Rest in Peace to those who you remembered in New Orleans. Rest in Peace Major Bong.❤

I love these personal stories of just regular people and the way you tell them just instantly brings them back to life. They deserve the recognition for how they lived and died just as much as the most famous people in the world do. The story about the man who hit his head and later died probably struck me the most because we still hear those kinds of stories today. It's a freak thing that any one of us could have happen to and nothing that has a cure except to be wise enough to get checked out if you hit your head that hard. I love these story walks as I call them. I would love to keep hearing them. Great job as always! RIP to all ❤💐

Great job, Ron! Lovely to see people remembered. A lot of these families may no longer exist or not have the money to come and repair the funerary monuments at the moment. My great grandmother has an air-conditioned columbarium-I have never met her but I am told I have exactly the same sense of humour and the same laugh, so I go and tell her how lucky she is that she can afford air-conditioning in sweltering hot Malaysia for eternity!

I enjoy the stories you tell at every cemetery you visit. These are stories about real people who lived, made their mark in the world, and passed away. Some stories are about famous people but most are about the man or woman who lived next door or down the street. Basically unknown to most, but usually they were known and loved by family and friends. I think every story is important! Thank you, Ron!

I likey! I love the history behind "ordinary" people just living their lives from day to day. For me, they are the ones that really show us where we came from...who we are...and the impact that one simple, yet important and meaningful life can have even decades later. There's something somberly magical and beautiful in remembering those that came before us. Yes, famous and notorious people shaped history and their lives are no less important but I think for most of us we can relate to the beauty of the mundane and the simplicity of living a life that isn't overshadowed by stardom, infamy and ticker tape parades. I would love to see more of this content with perhaps a few famous individuals sprinkled in here and there.

Love to hear about the 'regular' people. These are the folks who are more likely to be forgotten, so it is good to memorialize them here and to share their stories with us. Helps to connect the present with the past. Thank you, Ron!
@limlianhui94626 ай бұрын
I think Mr. Pffeifer’s story (hitting his head and being seemingly ok only to die two days later) resonated the most with me. I had a choir master in church that passed a similar way. He had gone on a church camp (confirmation) with the youths and was playing the guitar and keyboard for them. During one of the games he fell backwards and hit his head on one of the wooden walls of the hall. He said he was ok but would sit out the rest of the games. He seemed like his usual, happy self when they finally went to bed. No complaints of a headache or pain. His younger roommate heard him snore unusually loudly in the middle of the night but didn’t check on him and went back to sleep. In the morning he was late and when they went to wake him he was already stiff and cold. It was very shocking and sad for everyone when the news spread. He was 37, married and left behind an 11 year old daughter.

I like knowing about people. They don't have to be famous. For me, my thoughts are that there are so many people in the world that we know nothing about and never heard of them. Yet, all lives are interesting by the nature of existence. It's like sitting at an airport, bus terminal, a mall, etc., and watching people go by and looking at them how their dressed, what they look like, how they carry themselves and guessing what their lives might be like. Thank you for these vids Ron, probably some don't regard them to have been interesting, but I enjoyed this.

Ron.....For some reason I find this cemetary more peaceful, maybe only somewhat less to Bruton Church Graveyard in Colonial Williamsburg, va.. We lived within a block of the colonial area for 17 years and I used to take early morning walks among the fog and mist to sit on the stone benches among the 250 year old graves, stones, slabs, and markers and meditate. The history there just radiated and I felt a deep connection of those long past. Many, not all, of the modern cemetaries are depressing. I would rather visit the old graveyards of the late 1600s to late 1700's like near Salem, Ma., than most of the modern ones today. Thanks fo your channel.

Greetings from Oklahoma Ron ❤️I enjoy all of the cemeteries you take us to. And getting to hear stories about the lives that have come and gone before us is like history to me. I usually meditate on the stories and wonder just how different it really was back in the good ole days, as I call it. The generations behind me are so, so different!!!! Thank you for what you do Ron, and is it Deborah that helps you. She is so good at what she does and so helpful to you. She does an amazing job as well. I really liked the story of the woman that was the card's gambler. I can't think of her name right now. But I really did enjoy how much her life changed.
