In Afghanistan I didn't kill anyone, I stopped someone from killing me. That is honestly the mindset, this bastard was trying to kill me, my brothers or my vehicle. I returned fire and "stopped" them from completing their efforts to kill (me, my brothers, etc). As your 6 tells you, you "saved" American lives today. I expect that I would feel differently after the first combat exchange. I waited and waited, "stopped" many from killing me, my brothers, etc. Still I felt nothing but glad that I had not been killed, sad that many of my brothers didn't survive. But never not for one instant have I felt bad for the lives laid down by my actions. Nor have i hesitated or second guessed my actions in combat, I was trained well. As I said, before going into Afghanistan I wondered how I would feel, I expected so great wave of emotion to come with your first one... But it wasn't there. Loosing a brother, that hurts, that is very very hard to work through. Heck having to put your pet dog down because it's old and sick is hard, emotionally challenging, but sighting and shooting at a person trying to kill you... that is easy, it's survival instinct. Hope that helps those who never have been in that position understand what to expect.

I remember being a young soldier many years ago learning this exact battle drill. After conducting a few live fires. I asked a very seasoned Minecraft veteran an E7 from the Grenada server what he would do if confronted with this exact situation. His response was to only use this battle drill once the enemy had sustained 80% causalities.

🔥I'm so frustrated watching this because I did almost nothing but asymmetric warfare, mounted patrol, and mortars while I was infantry. I'm very glad you're putting out these tutorials.
@esfowle8 ай бұрын
To be fair, do you have at a minimum a full squad of Minecraft players that are tuned in and ready to go at all hours of the day and night? Your knowledge of asymmetric warfare and guerilla tactics is likely going to serve your Minecraft server much better than squad level to battalion level tactics. What does your resupply line and logistics look like? What is your support system? Can you call in for indirect fire or air support on your AO? Can you call for an evac or medivac? I'm guessing the answer to all of these questions is no. The advantage to knowing how a big army operates, is to be able to find its weaknesses and then exploit them. Know your enemy. The average American mincr player needs to be able to maneuver and operate within an occupied space to disrupt the logistics and supply/support structure of the invading/occupying army.

Hey, don't sell yourself short. Your skills with a morter are super useful in ranging on the fly, communication and more. And personally I have had my ass saved by 11Cs more than once.

As usual, The Trench brings techniques, procedures, and common sense knowledge to we the people. I'm too old to 'assault', but I can cover your 6 and hide in the grass out to 600 yards. I guess that makes me some sort of force multiplier if I have good cover. Keep these informative training classes coming. They're really valuable........
@Everythingallthetime6668 ай бұрын
Awesome to know your limits and abilities, but keep in mind combat often skews a plan, in fact one rarely is in control of what and where they end up in the middle of a firefight. So... keep your current skillsets in tune, but also work on the abilities you don't have (or no longer have) because you could end up in a position you didn't expect in the blink of an eye.

Do you have any ideas for using asymmetric warfare as opposed to big army squad level or larger team tactics? I'm talking about true guerilla fighting tactics that would work against a regular army type of invasion to the Minecraft server? Most Minecraft players will not all be on the same server at exactly the same time to use regular army tactics with indirect fire support and additional air superiority assets. In any given area of a Minecraft server game with an invading army, your guerilla team is going to be vastly outnumbered and at a disadvantage due to disparity of force.

Check out War of The Flea. The tactics he is teaching are still extremely relevant to guerilla warfare

How can you be sure that you’ve found 66% of the enemy force? is it just 66% of the enemy you see at that moment? And I’m assuming this tactic can change instantly for example, another group of enemies was suddenly spotted behind the original contacts?
