Reload doesn't feel that long, actually pretty generous from what I was expecting. What seems the worst with this weapon is the swap times. You have to run so far if you wanna heal safely. Overall I think this weapon works best while camping with teammates.

I always had a small idea in the back of my head, a new perk or a survivalist replacement called "Heavy." It would reduce the weight of guns over a certain amount, you'd be slower but tankier with maybe a damage resistance or larger health pool, and focus weapons like the RPG or Stoner LMG. Seeing the minigun in game really makes me wish they had made this perk lol. I'd play it all the time

Just before this gun was released I was thinking if there was a minigun perk. Similar to your idea it'd be a tanky perk that is meant to hold an area down and have increased carry capacity. Miniguns would have smaller headshot multipliers, like 1.2x, so despite their decent base dps, they don't go over the top. The perks skills would benefit standing still, killing multiple enemies in a row, and hitting bodyshots. One side of the skill tree would focus on improving the guns while the other would focus on tankiness and slows/stuns. Passives: carry capacity, max ammo, increased chance to draw aggro when firing at zeds. Hold the front line and save your allies as you soak damage and let them pick off big boys. Either cripple them with cc or focus on the crowd to give your sharp, gunslinger, or demo the breathing room they need.

With this build I can see the minigun being an excellent suppression weapon. Just pin a whole horde down and hope your teammates can quickly finish them off before you need to reload.

i think carrying the varmit AR with the minigun is a must, considering it's the only on-perk weapon you can carry alongside the minigun. that way, you get at least another weapon to swap to in a tight situation if your minigun runs out of ammo and there's still zeds around you. plus, the carry weight you have left means you can upgrade the AR once, still not a very powerful weapon but it drops harassing trash and gorefasts well enough in a tight spot also, it might be worth trying the other zed-time skill, so you can reload quickly in zed time, might prove more useful than having to deal with the long reload all the time

The reload is fair, its not terrible, its not grans - it's fair. You are amazing with it in this video by the way, it can be a VERY devastating weapon. I use full ammo perks on it and I will admit that while you CAN use on your lonesome, as you have just experienced with this video, having one person for backup is the best due to its slow movements when firing and wind up time.

Are you aware that shooting the patriarch in his metal appendages virtually cuts the damage your dealing in half? If not the head you NEED to aim for his flesh, don’t spray at the general body. You also do increased damage when he’s fleeing, so make sure to reload just before getting him down past 50% Hp. In other news, the reload speed isn’t half bad. You need to pay more attention to the small brakes between Zed spawns. After killing a good chunk of zeds you’ll notice your finding yourself waiting a good bit for more zeds to appear (generally after you wipe the screen of zeds). This is when you want to reload even if you aren’t close too empty. Even if they weren’t done spawning you can just reload cancel. I personally don’t see me having any problems with the reload. The bigger clip honestly looks more fun!

It's probably better to swap out the level 5 skill for faster reload, but keep the rest. One nice thing about the increased mag size is that ammo boxes give you ammo based on it, so they become much more valuable, especially in multiplayer.

Having these two perks would be nice if the percentage stacked instead of combining, the capacity would be 270 if that were the case, but since it isn't, then imo it's not worth giving away the precious reload time for extra 45 bullets that are gone in less than 2 seconds due the high RoF. I never took the time to do the math, but I'm pretty sure the reload speed bonus gives us more overall DPS than the +50% capacity with any Commando weapon, but most inportantly reload time isn't just a time window in which we cannot shoot, we also can't sprint.

Why isnt my man reloading during downtime? i seen atleast 4 instances where hes at half-mag and theres no zed in sight. but he just stayed revved up until they showed up and he inevitably didnt have enough ammo

@@PathfinderBoi Fair enough, i get the max mags but i also assumed youd max your ammo incase a horde came at once or when the Patriach came at you so you could ammo dump (of course acknowledgeing you were doing a request and would focus damage normally as you said). Good job, i havent gotten to use the minigun yet.

Play the Minigun in a Map where it has One long Passage so that the ZED's will come in a straight line to you, would be interesting to see if the Minigun is a good weapon for "Camping"

No, unfortunately. You can only buy weapon packs from each DLC, not all DLC weapons together. Like for the last DLC you can only buy the Glock and Blunderbuss in 1 pack. You can buy them separate though like if you only want the Glock.

Minigun feels still very underwhelming, to be honest, I expected more, its just not worth it. I personally love the dmg and reload on commando, if I want more rounds or a fat clip bigger than 90 rounds, I have to sacrifice 1 or 2 of the crucial perks. And the given weight of the minigun means you can't pair or have a secondary rifle to bring into the fight,and that is actually a big disadvantage. For now the minigun is just a beefed up stoner which occupies 2 weapon slots and carrying 1 weapon's worth of ammunition, in a 6 player HoE, without a support, running out of ammo is pretty much expected.. But unlike stoner, you could carry an m16 for more crowd control, or medic rifle to help the medic. For now I personally don't see a use in a 6 player HoE, but for single player it's fun.
