Doc! I'm going to miss the lawn at the house you're selling. Looking forward to the new project. Through your videos, I went from mowing once per month on my sandy New Mexico bermuda lawn to mowing every two days! BTW, those are very suggestive shrubs at 7:48. Keep the great info coming.

Our temps in south central Alabama have been in the 60s and 70s and super wet. Haven't gone a week without rain. I put barricade down a week ago. Our Poa Annua has been growing since before Christmas! Lol

I had a small window here near Atlanta of dry and noticed the weather getting warmer and some very small areas that have the poana starting up. I went with my instinct of applying the preemergent after 4 days of dry and warm weather. I kept saying I either did it right or I wasted 80 lbs of preemergent. After seeing this video and some other friends lawns, I believe I got it right! Maybe. Now I just need to kill the little of the poana that did grow. Thanks for the video!

Same boat in west Atlanta. I put the granular preemergent down last weekend. I’m itching to spray the mixture to get rid of the existing poa Anna. It’s gotten to a point where I hand pull the weeds/root out 😅

I have spent nearly a grand in Anderson’s products within the last year and weeds are are way worse this year! And we are just renting. But, I have always took great pride in having a very nice lawn. The pre emergent did not seem or is not working for my Bermuda lawn. I am at a loss! So far this year I have put out four bags of pre emergent, three bags of Humichar, and four bags of the 10-10-10. The only thing that has worked is I have a thick, amazingly green lawn! The best around. I spent 8 hours on my hands and knees pulling weeds the last two weeks and then rain came and now I’m full of weeds again! I’m very frustrated to spend all of that money and to have these issues still. I was going to put down my four large bags of complete down within the next week. My neighbor had also put out granular 2, 4-d for me early March as well and lot of the areas have browned, but still having issues. I purchased some Southern Ag 2, 4-d Amine Weed Killer and some Gordon’s Trimec crabgrass plus lawn weed killer in liquid form. Should I put down the liquid 2, 4-d and Trimec down now, or just let my lawn do it’s thing now since it’s getting later? Help!! I live in Central Texas.

Doc, thank you for all your help and videos. Look forward to hearing what you have to say about surviving a year of apocalypse. I’m always confused about the split treatment. The guide is not very specific about how much dimension/certainty to use relative to water in the tea picture. Also, would you use a surfactant in order to get it a better stick? I have a poa annua infested yard with Bermuda

What’s up doc!! I followed the lawn guide last year and my lawn was amazing neighbors jealous. I’m in North Carolina. Question should I aerate, or dethatch before doing my pre-emergent

I would think before. Pre-emergent creates a barrier across the lawn. Any disturbance destroys the effectiveness of pre-emergent.

When using that type of hose end sprayer, do you just mix the 2ew straight in those bottles with a small amount of water, then spray? Or should the mixture happen at a certain ratio of 2ew and water, then added to those small hose end bottles? If so what ratio is required to use those hose end bottles for let's say 5000 sqft

@thefosterhousevfx2 жыл бұрын
I have a lot of trouble figuring this out as well. I'd love it if there was a conversion tool to use for these bottles. like "X" amount of product per 1000 sqft (or Acre) + Square Footage of Lawn = "Y" amount of bottles with "Z" amount of total product + "W" amount of water with an option to double the water for 2 pass application
@michaelswider7490 Жыл бұрын
Do not use a hose end spray to spray ANY Post-Emergent, has to be used in a calibrated sprayer. Plus he doesn't put any surfactant in. Stop watching an using his techniques. He needs to go to some turf management course before teaching

Doc, Tiny Certainty bottle is 120 bucks, I don't want to spend high just to kill one weed type. how about Image or Ortho? (nutsedge & poa killer)?
@DrB_CU2 жыл бұрын
Certainty is the best killer of Poa; and only one bottle can last for several years with spot spraying. But Ortho will do nothing to it, so you can use Glyphosate as long as the grass is completely dormant, so you don’t have a big window left. Only spot spraying for gly.

I used Negate 37WG last year and it killed it fast! The only down side is that you have to mix the whole bottle into a concentrate and then dilute it. So you can not just mix a batch and keep the rest for the following year.
