What you bought up made a lot of sense but in the end a lot of it will get down to money and manpower. I suspect the reason we are getting told it’ll take 5 to 10 years to rebuild Lahaina is to wear the residents and local businesses there down. If you remove the will to fight from the people, it is easier to manipulate them and take what they have. I’ve sat and brainstormed about what not just Maui, but Hawaii needs to do to grow instead of shrink as a community, and step one is to remove the corrupt from seats of power. We need people who are not seeking to fill their pockets in leadership, people who represent their constituents. I do not have faith that our current leadership contains anyone like that. As a young person in Maui right now, it is hard to find reasons to stay on island. We have few opportunities for careers, and there is an overwhelming feeling that Maui has no future, because people ignore that it exists. But it is so important to seek opportunities to build and invest in the future so that our young people and keiki inherit a place that is safe and sustainable for them to live in. I wish more people thought like Sheila Walker, who is seeking solutions we can implement immediately for our futures, rather than putting things off over and over again. The problems we are having now will only grow larger the longer we put them off, until we don’t even know where to begin to untangle the mess we’re in. I really hope we find the straw that will break the camel’s back here, because otherwise Maui will become nothing more than a tourist hub with no more locals left to preserve our culture and community.

Think to look. Pipes or tubing going into those prefab units? May not be for good. Can you see a connection/connector or pipes, hoses etc going inside from outside not obviously hooked to water, power etc. Consider possibly problematic for health. Seen in other places same small mod bldgs with coupling for hose going i but not connected to any utility, for???? Not making sense in any good way. Buyer beware.....
