They’re not dead, they just stopped functioning. The queen transmits signals as orders to her minions, but since the queen is dead, the signals stopped transmitting.

The Tao Tie (The monsters) need they’re to queen to survive, just like ants and bees. If the queen dies, then the colony follows through as well. However in this case, they all stop functioning (not die) because they receive orders from the queen, and since the queen is dead there’s no more orders, which means they just stop functioning.
