Killzone 2 is one of the best FPS of all time, and easily the best FPS the PS3 had seen at the time. From the visuals to the audio to the story to the world design and color choices, Killzone 2 was ahead of it's time in so many ways. Happy 14 Years Killzone 2!

banger! great video fry. to this day this game still inspires me. the modelling, the way gg worked their engine on the ps3, sound design. oof those devlogs were a treat. i just never seen a dev being some in depth on how they utilize hardware and the efficiency, workaround on the design to overcome its limitations. i would love to see this franchise being refreshed and rebooted. a lot of the tropes of old game design philosophy are here. but around it is something that left a mark on what games can be. so i do feel it has more that it can offer. like many a ps5/6/7 and pc release would be great.

I've always wanted to see a remaster (nothing even that fancy, just a touch up would be fine with me) of at least the first 3 games and see them come to PC. I'm kinda 'meh' on the first, but 2 and 3 hold very special places in my heart, especially the amount of time I spent in multiplayer. Always loved the dark and gritty (quite literally in this case) aesthetic, especially of those mid 2000's to early 2010's shooters.

I spent so much time online in kz2. That one playlist where it was everything (all modes) was the best. I need a killzone series remake, and one killzone online game, sperate like what tlou and horizon are doing. Right now I'm setting a gaming day off to play them when they arrive. Can't wait. This series could have been destiny with the saga potential of 2 warring groups on different planets but sa,e race. I was so hyped for this game ever since I saw the original trailer in back in 2005, I remember me and my friends watched it on the school computer. This game is what made me discover Twitter for the first time back in 2008, their account was giving out beta codes, so I made and account to try to get one (I never did haha). I remember they had advertising on most bus stops in my country leading up to release and being hyped seeing it. I got this game on release day and definitely think they delivered on the graphics and did the original trailer justice. This game and the original Crysis are the 2 games that have impressed me the most when it comes to graphics, just because it was such a big graphical leap from PS2 graphics. Killzone 2's multiplayer was great but I also remember the aiming / controls felt a bit off with the input delay, especially when compared to COD 4 that I also played a lot back then (damn I miss when PSN was free)

I can't believe no other games have adopted the cover mechanic from this game. Absolutely amazing gunplay. I still play this game's campaign and MP with bots. Top 10 FPS All time for sure.

Other FPS games have implemented the same/similar cover since then.

@AbraCaStabra Oh no shit, really? Thats crazy. I've been playing FPS for over 20 years and while some Far Cry games have a similar animation, I dont remember an fps with the same cover mechanic as Killzone. Can you name a few? I want to try them out.

Agreed, I loved the weighty controls. The multiplayer was amazing I got the platinum on this and was in the top 0.1% of players lol.

While I never played the sequels, I did enjoy the first Killzone when I was a kid. I use to play it with my dad a lot through offline multiplayer.

I wish killzone would be one of the series that Sony brings over to PC. I love the setting and how the multiplayer matches swap game type every few minutes.

Killzone 2 was the best looking game of its time. I still miss Killzone 3 multiplayer vibes.

Killzone 2 never got its due respect during its time. Now we live in such a mediocre age of singleplayer games, we can look back and appreciate the greatness of this title. One of the most immersive, atmospheric, and epic FPS games I’ve ever played, with a fascinating undertone of politics that no other game has managed to capture since (especially the sequels). You can really tell this game was made with love and there’s enormous attention to detail in nearly every level.

I love this specific war futuristic game. I bought it in 2004 along with my PS2. Then, my PS3 with the trilogy.
