I work in pathology and we receive the actual fibroids in the lab and let me tell you most the time it’s a large bucket full so congratulations getting rid of them for good! You should have a pathology report in your medical chart which would tell you how big the biggest one was and the total weight of them if you’re curious! We also take some samples to make sure they are just plain fibroids and nothing concerning like a tumor! Love your videos and hearing a realistic patient experience. Even though the surgery was tough I’m glad you had a great surgeon and 90% good nurses taking care of you ❤

I’ve had two major surgeries one a major organ and a Myomectomy. The Myomectomy was much worse. Being cut open by your stomach is so painful. That area is so sensitive. Glad you’re doing better Kim! You look great!

Glad you're on the mend. I had a laparascopic myomectomy last week. Painful but not as hard as the open myomectomy.

Welcome back! I re-recommend reading John Berger’s “Ways of Seeing”. It’s about how we’re conditioned through media to be biased about what’s “good” and “beautiful.” It’s also a good study on the insidious power of phenomenology.

Hi Kim, I had that very same surgery 25 years ago. Best thing I ever did, and I had a fibroid the size of a football.

Glad to see that you seem to be recovering well. A couple years ago I had fibroid removed that was bigger than an orange smaller than a grapefruit. Before having it removed I was told I couldn't have children and now I have a chance of giving birth. It was the most painful healing experience I've had after a surgery. Wishing you luck on your recovery.

Hi Kim! It's so nice seeing you here again, your presence is very much welcomed. I hope your health will continue to improve and that you get rid of that asshole once and for all. Seeing you smile and talking about future plans is heartwarming, and I totally agree with that editor who reached out to you - a book about that topic feels very natural coming from you. If you still feel like launching onto that, just know you have fans rooting for you! Wishing lots of luck for whatever you decide to do moving forward 🍀

So glad youre feeling better! And yeah waking up from anesthesia is no joke omg. When I was waking up from top surgery I just felt so foggy and like I was gonna pass back out but I didn't know how long it'd been, and just wanted to get tf out of there. Took everything I had to ask the nurse to sit me up so I could stay awake. I already have trouble with sleeping too much, if I passed back out who knows how many more hours it'd have been til I woke up again! It felt like sinking or drowning, it was so scary. Edit: I want to get a hysterectomy at some point, I'm gonna have to block all this surgery talk out so I don't panic 😂😂😂

Hi Kim! Thank you for telling your fibroids story and I'm so glad you are feeling better. However this was eye opening for me bc I have open myomectomy scheduled at the end of this month. I have a toddler and people to help out but I'm dreading it too. For anyone reading this, if you have fibroids larger than 5cm, please seek assistance on getting them removed by laparoscopic surgery as soon as you can.

Congratulations on the surgery & recovery!! 🎉 I have mine (robotic) coming up, and it's been a very long process. Over a year ago, I actually had a failed surgery, did the whole "still need to recover, but still have fibroids cause I needed another specialist" thing. Im so ready to have my body and my full range of motion back.

I am so glad I stumbled across this video when I did. I am in the process of getting surgery for fibroid removal. Going through the scans, etc., so happy for you sharing. Mine is likely to be open, too. I haven't had surgery before either, and I am a little scared. I am having these conversations re: future of having kids with my partner now, and it's scary, but I am like... this is life. Welcome. Ironically, my birthday is also coming up and surgery is likely to be after - I am not in the most positive spirits.

Hello Kim. I have thought of you and wondered how and what you were doing to take care of yourself, because surgery is very stressful. Please take care of yourself. There is no such thing as a "minor" surgery. They are all "major." I'm glad that you rested. Wonderful Ones, please take care of yourself, build yourself up spiritually, eat right, exercise, get rid of toxic relationships, rest, serve with purpose and have fun. Do not feel any shame or guilt about taking time for yourself. Sometimes, you need to be first.

Catheters, oh my... I had a laparoscopic surgery a while ago and my body had a hard time getting my urinary system back online after anaesthesia, so I had to get cath'ed. The first nurse was having trouble so she told me she was going to go get this other nurse who was known for being a master at inserting catheters. The second nurse got it inserted right away on her first try, and when the other one praised her, the cath nurse said with great confidence, "Oh, I never miss a hole." Her reputation was apparently well-earned haha
