Everyone is criticizing her for the use of her gear. She’s just showcasing it, but trust me, in concert she can use it well.
@eggbass5 жыл бұрын
Really? Who would criticize someone for gear?
@GodsMan5005 жыл бұрын
@@eggbass She means the over-reliance on gear, not the simple use of gear. Many accuse her of over-use. That is not my contention, however, this is her thing and it works for her.

I guess one point is, that the kaoss pads have a really significant characteristic sound. if you overuse them, everything sounds like kaos pad. She is a great musician, just watched a view videos an i am impressed :)
@Normiiiiiiiii6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for making this video, she's my favourite and is so creative with her gear, it's great to get more of an inside view than trying to peek at her gear through at her radio show appearances!

What I wanna know is....WHY was Kimbra barely even MENTIONED regarding her work with Gotye??? That song came out YEARS ago but it’s only been in the past few days that I’ve discovered who Kimbra actually is, and more to the point how utterly goddam TALENTED she is. THIS GIRL SERIOUSLY DESERVES MORE CREDIT/RECOGNITION!!!!!!
@tasha00994 жыл бұрын
Why? She is a solo artist now.
@soulflame7993 жыл бұрын
because the song was written & performed by Gotye, and Kimbra was only a guest singer (hence "Featuring Kimbra") as for "barely mentioned", Gotye said even though he wrote the song, as they performed it so often together it was as much her song as his, so she DID get mentioned.

she should check out imogen heaps mimu gloves, all the tech she has there in gloves and gestures. it would be interesting to see kimbra use those.
@Mrnickstr896 жыл бұрын
Kelly Snook, one of the ladies on the Glove Team (as Immi calls it) posted a photo of Kimbra (last year I think?) at a gloves workshop so she definitely knows about them! Maybe she’ll switch to them in the future.

Yeah you're right. Hadn't noticed until your comment. Its a lil sad tbh Im not a fan of people who morph their accents. I guess ill have to make an exception cause I freaken love Kimbra.

I love Kimbra's voice and I think she's very talented, but I am not a fan of the transition to the band-less, super processed, computer-precise performance. IMHO, if you want to see Kimbra at her best, watch the live at Sing Sing Studios videos, which has her singing with minimal processing (except looping) and real drummer, guitarist and 2 keyboardists playing with her.
