It was the fact Michelin left F1 in 2006, and he hated the new "Control" Bridgestone tyres that F1 used as sole supplier. This coupled with the fact it was his first year at Ferrari, and the chassis had a lot more understeer than any McLaren he had driven. Once they brought a new front suspension and Kimi got used to the tyres, he was basically the best driver again. But Kimi from 2002-2006 was just insanity. He loved those Michelins, and Michelin always wanted Kimi to do the tyre testing.
