watching kimi in the mclaren era is just beautiful and heart breaking at the same time. He was at the top of his game, beautiful cars and brutal speed sometimes just smashing the other cars in qualifying. IF ONLY they had been more reliable, I reckon Kimi would be a three time WC now. So much potential just thrown away due to the unreliability...
@_TenaciousD_4 жыл бұрын
Yeah Kimi in McLaren was so unbelievable at times, how fast he was at qualifying with a heavier fuel load or qualifying at the start of a session due to a DNF in the prev race (strange quali rules back then with the 1 lap qualifying etc), and then in the race would just be fighting forwards all the time. Super aggressive. Not saying he has changed but he was a beast back then.

Kimi has to be one of the most beloved drivers in F1 history, whether it be casual fans or dedicated ones; you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who genuinely disliked Kimi. He's pure and honest, never tried to act like a celebrity, never chased fame, a class of his own - a true gentleman. I know it's common to montage Kimi's rage moments, but to me the most interesting are the moments when you catch a glimpse of how much he cares for the sport and his fellow drivers. When Charles Leclerc crashed, Kimi's radio message asking whether he was okay was a genuine moment. He cares, just doesn't need a t-shirt or social media posts to show that he does. Truly inspiring. Give us a Podium, Kimi!

I mean his 2003 season was lost just becasue of 1 race where his engine blew up when he was leading. He had 2 more retirements than Schumacher, had he finnished only 1 of those he would almost certainly have been champion. And 2005... well where do you start really? Fun fact: Max's debut in F1 came along with a lot of criticism because he was so young and inexperienced, Kimi however made his debut, well being older, but with less racing experience compared to Verstappen.
@DimitriMoreira4 жыл бұрын
In the 00's was considered "very young" if you debuted at 22 or 23. Alonso did it with 21 and was right away taken back as a test driver. When Schumacher begun it was about 24-25 that was considered "very young". Same goes for Verstappen, the FIA thought 19 to be "very young" and Verstappen debuted at 17 if I'm not mistaken. The problem is that, at 23 or 25, you're already a man. At 21 you're kind of, depends on the person and level maturity, but at 19 and younger? You're a kid. Max's debuted so young that the FIA had to implement a rule to prevent it happening in the future. If not what else would we be seeing? 12 year old kids by 2030? Or just plain 7 year olds by 2060? Jokes apart, we won't be seeing anyone younger than 18 thanks to the rules.

Ah Kimi, my favourite F1 driver ever. Started watching F1 in 2000, didn't had a favourite driver that season but in 2001 when Kimi made that beautiful race in Australia - i had myself a favourite driver. And still am, wish he would never leave but i know this sad day will be soon. Still haven't found a driver quite like him to be a fan of...

Kimi is the last of the V10 heros I grew up watching F1 back in the late 90's to early 2000's he's the last of these drivers from when I was a kid to now. When Alonso comes back it will just be him from my favorite F1 era hopefully Kimi and Fernando can race against each other in F1 again one last time. And who knows, if Kimi and Alonso are in F1 for 2021 and beyond we will have Kimi, Alonso and a Schumacher on the grid again! It's crazy when you think about it.
@chanchaniceman4 жыл бұрын
A Schumacher as his teammate like what more of a story can you write. Driving against the son of a man who he competed for a championship 17 years ago and not to mention having to drive against two drivers whose dads’ are F1 drivers you can’t ask for a better story than this

A truly remarkable rise indeed! What a career this man has had. A real, balanced and marvelous career with highs and lows, teaching him how to be a true sportsman and how to take defeat in his stride. Kimi has always been classy. I don't care that he won just one championship. Everyone knows he deserved more than one. He has stayed relevant for two decades in F1. Forever my hero, Kimi Raikkonen! ♥️😎
@rutshah87104 жыл бұрын
He deserves at least a midfield car. He still has pace in him to get few podiums and might be couple of race wins.
