I totally agree about color. I have skinny hips and thighs, so white, ivory, etc., jeans look good on me and help balance out my full-busted shape. Especially with a dark top; one of the major designers (can’t remember which) says this is the most chic look, light on the bottom.

I’m 178cm tall inverted triangle and typically wear size 26-27 jeans. When I was younger I mostly wore boot cut jeans with a mid rise, and I still think they look best on me. I have a lot of low rise skinny jeans in my wardrobe that I’m trying to phase out because I don’t find them overly flattering on my body shape. I have long skinny legs and a small butt, so skinny low waist jeans can make me look top heavy. Mid rise straight leg is the most flattering. My favourite pair of jeans are from Zadig & Voltaire in a slightly distressed washed black skinny/straight leg mid rise - I don’t know the style name. They’re perfect. Recent purchases - Grlfrnd Addison high rise boot-cut style in a mid wash are really flattering, comfortable and perfect length for me to wear with heels, Re/Done comfort stretch high rise cropped jeans in a light wash are so comfortable and a quality denim that wear well for days, and a 70’s style Goldsign Welt Pocket high rise wide leg jeans in a very light blue denim that super long and remind me of Farrah Fawcett in Charlie’s Angels. The only issue with high waisted jeans, particularly those with a button fly, is they are not as flattering on your tummy in my opinion, so don’t go super high waist unless you are super skinny. I want to get some Agolde jeans - maybe the Riley style. 🥰

Hi Kim, I have several pairs but my favourite pair are my dark wash Hudson skinny jeans. They hug my legs and butt perfectly and I always feel confident when I wear this jean. I was lucky and found them at Winners. Thanks for your sharing your styling tips!

We interred triangles really struggle with jeans. I need a mi rise 33” leg boot cut and preferably in a slightly lighter shade. Broad shouldered giraffe legs is tough. Le Mini Boot by Frame denim is a premium price but I did get mine on sale and have worn them 100 times this past year. That’s about $2/wear so far and the fabric is built to last. Totally worth the price.

The neck sizing trick WORKS! It was like magic. Lol! Also... I'm super super skeptical on trying high rise stuff 😬 I honestly can't tell if I'm pear or hourglass but I have pronounced hip dips (thanks internet for pointing this out to me) and wondering if the high rise actually makes that *lovely* feature look worse. I like solid-color jeans, too. No artificial fading, whiskering, contouring or distressing. I like to just wear them forever and let the wear create these features in the right places. Classic cuts, like 501s, never go out of style, anyway.

I have been a legging wearer for years because I have super long legs and it’s really hard for me to find jeans that are long enough and comfortable for me but I just found a pair that I absolutely love that are so comfy I’ve been choosing them over leggings! They’re the AG Adriano goldschmied Mila jeans - they’re high waisted skinny jeans and they are a long enough ankle length. I bought them in 2 colors. In the past I had worn mostly American eagle or express jeans but they just weren’t comfy or squeezed me way too tight but these ones are worth the cost. Also the night I watched your last video I had a dream that I saw you in person and I was like “omg Kim I was JUST watching your video!” And you were like “OMG HEYYY!” 😂

I highly recommend Imogene + Willie jeans out of Nashville. They are made in the US, and the company is trying to restart denim mills here in the US that have not been used. The denim is a very high quality selvage denim. I have about four pairs of these jeans. They have timeless styling, and something for every body type. I am older, but certainly not frumpy. I recently purchased the Harper Decatur style and they are my new favorites. I am very tired of skinny jeans. They also have excellent customer service and can recommend styles for your body type and style.

I love my Levis Wedgie jeans but haven't had much luck with other Levis. My tried and true brands for denim are Joe's Jeans, James Jeans and Agolde makes the best denim shorts ever. My body type is unique because I am only 5'2", I have a long torso, high hips with defined hip dips and a large bum.

I’m somewhere in between the pear and hourglass shapes, and I REALLY love the Levi’s Wedgie, the Levi’s 721, the Levi’s 501 Skinny, the Zara The Petit and the Zara Mom jeans (these last two make for a more vintage look).

Lots of garments have some elastane/spandex, like leggings, t-shirts, etc. I never tumble-dry them and they last so much longer. The only exception is when I want to break down the stretchiness, some garments are just too bandagey-feeling, even when sizing up. Those, I will tumble dry, but the effect is not reversible, the stretch won’t recover.

My favorites have been GAP and Lee actually makes a "flex motion jean" that fits good - I have an hour-glass figure but am built like an amazon so its hard to find jeans that fit right and don't rip in the seams shorty after buying them. I've always hung them to dry after washing and these have held up well.

Another problem with short zippers on high waisted jeans, if you have any kind of bootie, is being able to get them over your hips!

A bit late but I'm a pear shape and very tiny in that regard. 5'1" waist is around 23/24 I absolutely love the Brigette light wash by Lucky Brand in the size 00/24. The only issue is that sort of need a belt. I can wear it without it but you can see how it gaps in the back of I don't have one on. These also don't loose shape super quickly. Maybe after 4 wears they loosen up Other personal favorite is the Levi 720 High Rise Super Skinny in black in the size 24. These are a perfect fit, no need for a belt and they do not get loose throughout the day. I wore them once every day to work when the dress code change to black pants or slacks only. Even after that they were still a good tight.

My favorite jeans are Talbots curvy straight leg with a dark wash. They fit my waist without a belt and the straight leg is usually better for a curvy body. I have a pair of Good American that fit well, but the zipper doesn’t open wide enough for my hips so it’s an ordeal pulling them on! They look great though, once I get them on! I can’t wait to see your list of everyone’s favorite jeans! I’m really wondering about whether the trick of measuring around your neck would work for a pear. For example, I have a very small waist compared to my hips. I think if a pair of jeans fit exactly in the waist I would never get them over my hips unless they were a curvy style cut for a small waist and big hips. Have you worked with a pear shape client and found the trick to work for them or not?

That neck thing is a great tool. It did not work for me but at least now I have some reference point. I tried it with my best fitting pair and they were too big for my neck...then I tried with a pair that are actually ok but a little snug and it fit around my neck. So now I have a reference guide.

if your a person who is tall as your standing but short when you sit, you definitely have a short torso. But if you are short if your standing but when you sit kind of tall, it's a longer torso. But normally you can tell by just looking at yourself in the mirror :)

I am still learning how to dress my body. I am a triangle or 🍐. I always go for a dark wash and have just learned how much a high rise jean flatters me and is super comfortable. The issue is, not all high rise jeans are really high rise! I have been enjoying Charter Club jeans from Macy’s and a skinny jean from NYDJ. I love Loft jeans! I am an hourglass shape (with a longer torso than legs). They are about a medium rise and that's what I love! They fit AMAZING. But I have a question- what type of jean should I be buying to defend against the "thunder thigh"? After about 3 to 4 months of continual wear, I rub holes through my Jean's in that thigh area. Are some types of denim better than others to stop that from happening as fast?
