Can't believe Tim didn't get the trivia bit that when Marty was being hung on the courthouse by Mad Dog and his gang, it was actually Michael J Fox being hung. Like literally being hung, there was an accident with the setup of the stunt and Michael J Fox was actually hanging with the rope tied around his neck, legitimately choking!

Mickey Rooney is the voice of Todd from Fox and the Hound, and Santa Claus from almost all of the old claymation shows! He was more recently Gus in Night at the Museum 1 and 3. He’s also been in several films and TV shows since he started acting in the 1930’s. Pat Buttram (who IS in the bar scene) was the voice of sheriff of Notingham in the animated Disney film (the Wolf), and Chief in The Fox and the Hound. He has also appeared in several films and TV shows since the 1940s. In the 1950s Pat did many western shows and films with Gene Autry. He passed away in 1994.

Part 3 has a better plot and character motivations for Doc & Marty. Part 3 is Marty going back to the Old West to save Docs life and it develops Marty & Docs friendship a lot more. We also get to see a side of Doc that we’ve never seen. Part 2 is fun to watch but it’s just an unnecessary trip to 2015, Doc could’ve just told Marty about what happens in 2015 rather take Marty & Jennifer into the future.

Marty can't go back before Doc sent the letter, otherwise he would create a paradox in which Doc never sends the letter. Just had a thought though. Could they have switched out the Deloreans in 1885 since there were technically 2 there?

Great points, I think the Delorean that Doc came to 1885 in used all its gas/juice. So they’d be in the same place with both. Otherwise I’m assuming Doc wouldn’t be stuck in 1885 although happy there

Always dug how Marty walked in on "Trump Biff" watching the end of Fistful of Dollars and gets the idea for the bulletproof vest. There's something so special about these movies, when the train parks right behind the modified time machine and the music swells, it's such a simple, but epic moment. You feel that this is it. This trilogy has a beginning, middle and end. And like real life, it takes unexpected turns and tests it's characters to be their best in times of struggle. Love it. Thanks for the refreshing In Review on some of my favorite films of all time. ❤️

Here's a little bit of fun head cannon for you Greg: the traveling salesman that's talking to Doc in the saloon mentions he's selling barbed wire. In 1874 Joseph Glidden patented barbed wire and opened a factory in good old DeKalb Illinois. So it stands to reason that this man is our own Northern Illinois man, Mr. Joseph Glidden.

Part III has the reputation of being "the worst one", which I think is a bit unfair. Part I is the all-around, clear-cut, best movie no doubt. It's tightly written, the comedy lands, and the spectacle are all there. Part II, i think, is a biiiit overrated because it has the "cool" factor of going into the future (which has become dated) and the concepts of time paradoxes, and the admittedly awesome plot device of going into the first movie, from another POV. While the movie is flawed, Part II is definitely memorable because of how zany it is compared to the other 2.... Part III is somewhat of a step-down from Part II, in the sense that it's far less frenetic, and requires less of Doc explaining what's going on in a crazy manner. Part III is to the point, and stays settled in 1885, til the very end. At face value, that could be a criticism, but I think it makes the movie way more charming than it's given credit for. Add to the character development of both Doc & Marty, and you get a more reflective movie than the previous two, and a sense of heart that the first movie had, but the second movie didn't. If I were to rank the movies, I'd go: 1, 3, & 2.

Richard Liggett love 3 Amigos! Unfortunately, it’s one of those movies that are hard to get a hold of digitally. You can rent it on Amazon and iTunes, but you can’t buy it digitally anywhere. Other films like that include Young Guns which you can watch on Amazon Prime, but not buy, True Lies which can only be streamed on HBO but can’t be bought, and The Best of Times which can only be streamed on Prime, but can’t be bought, and the Dune miniseries is only available on DVD for around $100 or on Blu-ray for $20, but not at all digitally.

They mention it in the beginning of Part III when they are digging in the library archives after finding Doc's grave. Marty asks if they're sure it's the same Emmet Brown and Doc says something along the lines of "Of course it's the same Emmet Brown, the Brown family didn't come to Hill Valley until 1904 and at that time they were the Brauhns, but had to change the name after the war"

From Wikipedia on Frisbees: Walter Fredrick Morrison and his future wife Lucile had fun tossing a popcorn can lid after a Thanksgiving Day dinner in 1937. They soon discovered a market for a light duty flying disc when they were offered 25 cents for a cake pan that they were tossing back and forth on a beach near Los Angeles, California.[4] "That got the wheels turning, because you could buy a cake pan for five cents, and if people on the beach were willing to pay a quarter for it, well-there was a business," Morrison told The Virginian-Pilot newspaper in 2007.[5] The Morrisons continued their business until World War II, when he served in the Army Air Force flying P-47s, and then was a prisoner of war.[5] After the war, Morrison sketched a design for an aerodynamically improved flying disc that he called the Whirlo-Way,[4] after the famous racehorse. He and business partner Warren Franscioni began producing the first plastic discs by 1948, after design modifications and experimentation with several prototypes. They renamed them the Flyin-Saucer in the wake of reported unidentified flying object sightings.[5] "We worked fairs, demonstrating it," Morrison told the Virginian-Pilot. The two of them once overheard someone saying that the pair were using wires to make the discs hover,[5] so they developed a sales pitch: "The Flyin-Saucer is free, but the invisible wire is $1."[6] "That's where we learned we could sell these things," he said, because people were enthusiastic about them.[5] Morrison and Franscioni ended their partnership in early 1950,[5] and Morrison formed his own company in 1954 called American Trends to buy and sell Flyin-Saucers, which were being made of a flexible polypropylene plastic by Southern California Plastics, the original molder.[4] He discovered that he could produce his own disc more cheaply, and he designed a new model in 1955 called the Pluto Platter, the archetype of all modern flying discs. He sold the rights to Wham-O on January 23, 1957.[4][a] In 1958, Morrison was awarded U.S. Design Patent D183,626 for his product. In June 1957, Wham-O co-founders Richard Knerr and Arthur "Spud" Melin gave the disc the brand name "Frisbee" after learning that college students were calling the Pluto Platter by that term,[9] which was derived from the Connecticut-based pie manufacturer Frisbie Pie Company,[10] a supplier of pies to Yale University, where students had started a campus craze tossing empty pie tins stamped with the company's logo-the way that Morrison and his wife had in 1937.[5]

The original is a timeless classic, a masterpiece. 2 is a very good and entertaining sequel. I never feel like it drags or is boring at any time. I would say its the most action packed out of the 3 so I don't know why anyone would think this. It's a very obvious 3 act structure of the future, alternate present and past. The future sets it up, the alternative present is the problem and the past is the resolution (which in turn sets up part 3). I've always loved 3. In recent years I kind of like it better than 2, probably down to its slower pace and more relatable story with Doc. No doubt it comes full circle and is following the same formula of the first film. Its certainly not as frantic as part 2. I think part of the current problem with part 2 is the fact we are past 2015! Thou this also caused Zemekis and Gayle problems at the time as they said if they knew they were going to make a sequel they would never have went into the future at the end of the first movie, because no one can predict the future. So the only way they could do it was everything had to be played for laughs! And that's the way to view it. No need to over analyse it. It's for me the best trilogy ever made. I can't fault any of it because I don't think it's meant to be deeply thought about.
