I had the opposite experience from Colin's. I had a doctor who refused to acknowledge that I have Celiacs even though staying away from gluten clearly makes my symptoms disappear. Some doctors don't want to diagnose anything that they can't give you a drug for. And I get itchiness and rashes instead of stomach problems.

Colin, just wanted to say: I was one of the people who tried to write you off because of your political views. The day you went to the daily fix I think with a political t-shirt I thought was really stupid. But I'm also pro freedom of speech and I genuinely appreciate hearing opinions that are different from mine as long as they come from reasonable and corteous people. And over time I realised you are one of the best sources of insightful remarks and I end up agreeing with you more often than not! So thank you for that, keep being you, and saying things the way you do, and you're right not to worry about other people's assumptions. BTW, Im not a democrat (Im not even american even though I lived in the US for a while), and although I wouldnt call myself a marxist I tend to agree more with "left wing" authors.

HOLY FUCK, i finally have 6 degrees of separation to you guys, less actually i think. My really good friend is in a band with a guy named Tom Power, Tom was filling in for shad on CBC's the q ( canadian radio show) , he had felicia day on , BOOM there you have it. SO happy, and guess what Tom just like myself is from Newfoundland , I'd bet Colin is the only one who knows where that is. check out the the Dardanelles , they're a Newfoundland folk group. Newfoundland has a very very unique sound, little bit of irish, little bit of english and french, mix it together and leave it on an island in the atlantic for a 500 years, and you have something special.

I'm with Colin on this (freedom of speech), especially with regards to Bill Maher. I don't agree with Maher on quite a bit, but his discussions on Islam and freedom of speech are pretty spot on. People are afraid to call it for what it is. Troy Baker's monologue on the show a couple of weeks back mirrored Ben Affleck's embarrassing display on RealTime where Bill Maher and Sam Harris read facts about Islam and violence, but Ben wasn't having any of it, and I imagine Troy would have conducted himself in a similar manner.

I very much disagree with Colin on superhero films. Its not a single product, its a genre, so you cant compare call of duty and assassins creed to it. Not to mention, video games cost $60, while a single film can be around 13. So seeing 2 Marvel films a year, months apart, is hardly going to tire people out of the genre, or make them worry about cost. Not to mention that even if more and more of these superhero type films release, to the point of exaggeration, that doesnt mean people will stop watching these films ENTIRELY. They will most likely simply stop watching random ones that are consistently bad, and stick with Marvel, or DC as well if their Universe proves to be fruitful. I can see a collapse happening, but not for a LONGG time.
