Something weird was how out of their way they went to not mention Superman. They reference most other heroes a few times, but even when they reference Freddy’s lunch with him they said something like “some guys” and “he sat right there” it was very weird, Freddy’s whole thing last movie was how much he loved Superman

I had a lot of fun with this movie. The critic reviews are very confusing to me. In no way would I call this a bad film. I think the first is still better and had more heart, but this is a worthy sequel. I’m sad it’s underperforming because I love the Shazamily and want to see more of them.

my kids and i enjoyed it, feels like they want Dark Knight and this is a simple popcorn family movie. My 7 and 13 year old had a blast. The KFAF team aren't the right audience for this and sorry Gregg, I loved Monster Squad as a kid but it doesn't hold up, no offense.

You guys need to see this with your kids, they are less weighted down by the expectations we all seem to have. See it through their eyes. Andy started down that road in the beginning of the review but you guys were so caught up on it being some cinema piece. It's a fun movie with a bunch of heart. The villains are ok, and provide a great backdrop for a kid dealing with the woes of abandonment issues. Just saying, give it a shot, its a solid movie.

Yeah, I watched the movie with my kid before listening to this review and it gives you a completely different perspective. Some movies are just light and fun. Movies like Labyrinth or Neverending Story were a memorable part of so many childhoods but would fall apart if thrown under a microscope like these movies today are. Logic doesn’t apply to half the actions in these movies.
