Hey guys, great content as always but I want to step in to clear up a little bit of misinformation. You can absolutely mount monsters in this game. The process is 100% up to you and how you're fighting the monster. In no way do you have to "luck out". Anytime you hit the monster while you are in the air you do mount damage to the monster. Once you do a specific amount of mount damage your character will cling to the monster and you will be able to attack while holding on. The more aerial attacks you do, the faster you will mount the monster. There are many ways to do aerial attacks on monsters. The easiest way is attacking off of your Seikret. This is usually the Y / triangle button while you're ridding your Seikret. Additionally, you can perform an aerial attack anytime your hunter is sliding on a slope or jumping off of an edge, ( even if it's a very tiny edge). The levels are designed with slopes and edges everywhere for this exact reason. Basically, mounting the monster is 100% possible and not at all random. The game is designed so that you always have an attack that does mount damage, (your Seikret), and the levels are designed so that you're almost always near a slope or an edge to do mount damage. This is a core mechanic of the game and not something that just happens randomly. The Monster Hunter Community relies a lot on shared knowledge and cooperation between Hunters. I'm not trying to have a "gotcha moment" with this post. I just wanted to pass on the hunting knowledge that someone else passed on to me years ago. I'm very happy to hear you guys seem to be enjoying the game so far. Happy Hunting KFBFs, I'll see you in the wilds

Greg has covered Monster Hunter in the past. Very disappointing they are getting this level of information wrong.

You did not need this wall of text to convey this info my guy lmao
@Greekanese31Ай бұрын
@@Hero5700 To be fair, Greg covered Monster Hunter before this system was in the games, because mounting was only introduced with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (which was reviewed by Jose Otero and not Greg), and Greg is Dual Blades focused which has little reason to be mounting and thus know the mounting mechanics.
@general_malarkyАй бұрын
@@lukieq12 Greg is not brand new to Monster Hunter. Honestly, he's been playing the series longer than I have. At this point, if he still doesn't understand the mechanic, then there are going to be many people watching who don't understand it either. Clearly, you don't need to read that lengthy post to understand mounting. However, I guarantee somebody out there does. If it's not helpful to you then that's fine honnestly. The comment obviously wasn't written specifically for you. You can just scroll on by and leave it for someone else who might be interested in it

Monster Hunter Worlds was my first Monster Hunter and I adored it. Fell off before Iceborne because of lack of people to play with but I've started the friend group campaigning early. Come February 28th, I'll be ready. More Monster Hunter Worlds is exactly what I want from Wilds. Great preview guys.
@BasketCase-rr7txАй бұрын
If Blessing (or anyone else) really wants to get into Monster Hunter then I would really recommend playing solo for a while. The series is generally designed with a solo playthrough of the story in mind first. Even Monster Hunter World with its much improved coop integration was better solo for the first 50-100 hours as you really need to learn both the ins and outs of your weapon of choice and all the monsters move sets to be ready for the more challenging hunts going forwards. I would also recommend checking out KZbin tutorials for whatever weapon you decide on as many have hidden features that the game doesn’t explain and are actually very important to playing the game well.

So hyped for Sparking Zero, looks to be best DBZ game in YEARS
@WambwneDАй бұрын
The visuals aren't that great from a textures perspective, but the game feels so dense with things happening at all times. Herds of monsters on the screen, up to tiny fliers feeding their baby pukei-pukeis, and the (very) dynamic weather effects. They just quadrupled down on the whole ecosystem angle from worlds and I couldn't be happier. All I need now is an area as visually stunning as coral highlands and I'm good.
@ThePokestopPapiАй бұрын
As someone who put hundreds upon hundreds of hours into World, the weather effects in Wilds alone have me absolutely excited as hell

Wilds is not going to compete graphically with the high end of the industry and the performance will be closer to what we saw with DD2, though probably not what we saw in the cities. RE Engine just wasn't built with MH in mind, as it came out ~4 years before Worlds release, but Capcom are working to correct the issues with REX.
@philbarton2832Ай бұрын
It looks gorgeous to me and the animations (especially the monsters) are up there with the best of the industry. It's a shame we don't get a 60fps even on the pro but honestly when you factor in all the moving parts of this game I can't say I'm that surprised. Maybe a 60fps patch is down the line 🤞
@AkrymirАй бұрын
@@philbarton2832 IT looks good, but graphically that's a different story... the term graphics isn't some catch all for how a game looks. Also, if it doesn't have a performance mode at launch, then it won't ever get one, as it'll be because it's CPU bound and they aren't fixing that.
@philbarton2832Ай бұрын
@@Akrymir MHW is praised for it's graphics and with current gens improved specs wilds looks even better. The foliage/vegetation, weather effects, animals and npc models look great. Correct me if I'm wrong but I assume you're strictly talking about fidelity but there's so much more to visuals than that and personally speaking I think MHWilds looks gorgeous when you factor in everything and I can almost guarantee the visuals will be one of the elements praised the most once reviews drop
@philbarton2832Ай бұрын
@@Akrymir I wouldn't be too sure about a later patch not coming because other games have achieved it. I'm not getting my hopes up but I also wouldn't be surprised if it came down the line

@@philbarton2832 A patch will depend on if it's CPU bound or not. DD2 towns for example are CPU bound, so no patch will fix it.

Mh World may be a good launch point honestly, the ecology of each zone is quite substantial. There are so many docile creatures that you can follow and marvel at and even capture and interact with back at base. The game even has rare endemic life that only appear during certain conditions and even adorable tribal creatures that have their own sub quest system to engage with. With the hunting aspect, the large monsters themselves are so large and dynamic its like being in Jurassic Park.

Monster hunter wilds is going to be hugely popular. I would estimate about 90% of MHW's playerbase will buy it (which is a boat load) and then you'll have all the players who are looking for the next new gorgeous looking game plus the PS5 pro crowd because this game is confirmed to use it's enhancements. Best selling capcom ever incoming
