Doesn’t PS5 Pro come with 2 terabyte instead of 1 too? Thats another selling point a memory expansion is $100. If I didn’t have a PS5 already I’d go for the Pro myself. Also PS has had a great year FF7, Stellar Blade, Wukong, Astrobot 👏

Xbox already did an iterative console. The S and X is exactly that one low end one high end.

If you look at the PS5 Pro hardware item by item, it makes the case. The expanded storage alone is an additional $100 of value and not to mention all the other enhancements like wi-fi 7. It's pricey no doubt but the value is there it's just not sexy. Next gen is going to be more of the same tech wise higher specs but it's always up to the Dev's to make the hardware sing.

This is what phil needs to do. Say that xbox is gonna become a pc. Plain and simple. So what happens is xbox will give up halo. Gears and all of it right. But make GAMEPASS EXCLUSIVES. So the only way to play a game is when u have gamepass . Certain titles. But gamepass can be on ps5 as well. The next xbox console should have steam store. So u can play ps5 games on xbox .

I get what you're saying but it wouldn't work. Because Sony would NEVER let Microsoft put Gamepass on the PS5 in that form. Probably not in any form, but especially not that

@alexlyster3459 true, but if halo is able to be BOUGHT on ps5 and it sells 1 million copies or more. Which it will. Sea of thieves did over 1 mil. Halo may do 3 mil. Why would xbox turn down that much money, and player count.

@loitersquadX Yeah, I agree, Halo would sell gangbusters on PS. Especially if they put out The MCC first, then Halo 5, then Infinite about 6 months apart. but the way to do that wouldn't be to make it exclusive to GP, or just make the console a PC. Consoles should continue to be a thing that Xbox do, just as one of the pillars of their business, rather than the whole building like they are for Sony.

Imagine Xbox bought Ubisoft and we had a Smash esque game with Master Chief, Ezio, Rayman, Crash, Pip Boy, Spyro, Doom Guy hell maybe even through in a Forza Car (this is a joke, Xbox wont buy anything for awhile)

The war is over Sony won the console war Xbox lost and there is no chance for them to ever catch back up. I don’t care how many generations you go into the future. There is no chance to catch up. Nobody is going to abandon purchases. They have made last generation and this generation to go to a new platform that ain’t happening. Microsoft isn’t dumb enough to think it will and if you think someone is going to say well, I bought those games on a PS4 and I bought more games on a PS5 but now I’m going to switch and leave all of that behind and buy something new next generation you’re being foolish. That is not going to happen. Too many games too many friends it’s an ecosystem that people are used to and they will not leave it behind. Phil Spencer is just ripping off the Band-Aid slowly because we the consumer the gamer act like we don’t understand. The war is over. Microsoft had to change strategies. They had to approach the problem from a totally different angle and this makes sense. How does Sony generate wealth? They do not do so by selling hardware. Every time they sell a platform when it initially launches, they sell it at a loss. Only Nintendo launches platforms and sell them at a profit. Everyone else sells them at a loss and then hopes to sell software in their marketplace and make the money back. Microsoft has just said you know what let’s just sell the software. They haven’t said they won’t make hardware they’ve committed to making hardware, but they have said this is where the money is. Let’s go where the money is. If they can sell a game on a PlayStation and make money why shouldn’t they? Yes give it to me on my Xbox first but after that, give it to the PlayStation people and let them pay you money for it. Then you can make another game for me on my Xbox but if you think alone is going to keep Microsoft gaming of float, I’ve got a miracle hair growth formula for you that I’m selling. Understand that this is just business. They can’t make enough money selling games on Xbox. They need to expand. This is how you do it. This is actually the best way to do it. Don’t get mad at them for trying to keep the business afloat that’s what they are supposed to do and if you don’t want to listen or look at the numbers and understand reality that’s your fault.

@jermelpurse3018 To put it in more simple terms, Xbox was losing the console war, so instead of continuing to fight a losing battle they just started fighting a different one. They're not going to beat Sony head to head via the old system. They can absolutely overtake them if they do things right as a games publisher in general, with more players playing their games everywhere, and these days that's just as valuable if not more than a purely closed console ecosystem, given as you said those are maintained at a loss ( and more importantly fluctuate heavily on a 6-7 year schedule, where's by being everywhere Xbox can keep their playerbase high)
